37 pts allowed vs 2 (3!) ints, 2 sacks, 6 forced punts, blocked PAT.
Tough call...
Defense has been a low point all season, even with remarkable individual plays at times.
On Saturday, our Dline performed admirably. Our Linebackers did well.
However, sometimes it appears that we are so far out of position in the secondary that it defies explanation. (not sure, but I want to see that INT/not INT play again for example. He was all alone, was he luckily out of position or just expertly playing the ball?)
Our Running game has been a low point all season.
Cox is a beast when he can get an opening.
OL?
Vs ECU our pass protection, which had been pretty good all season seems to have broken down.
OL?
LaRussa took what 9 sacks??? Even though I watched the game, I am not sure how much of that was coverage, pass rush, or LaRussa not being tall enough to see his check downs and/or the field on extended plays. Probably a combination.
I do know that counting from the snap he had almost no time to set and throw, ECU was back there so fast BL could hardly blink.
The only INT (in the end zone) was a TD all day long against VT. DuHart just goes up and gets it from 5'10" DBs.
Vs ECU that was more problematic.
Still given the pressure, better DBs and drops, BL threw for over 58% and only 1 INT.
A lot of sacks but at least he protected the ball.
Vs ECU we started dropping passes again. I am not sure what that is.
I may be off base on some of the above.
I need to see the game again from an analytical perspective instead of a beer augmented emotional one.
