RE: NIU v. EMU Game Thread
"be with positive people" so true, DUH!....I feel that the board has caught on to putting these negative nellies on ignore and with that the vibe here has become much more positive and fun....the Huskies battle, the coaches do a great job with limited resources (ever compare Cary salary and assistants' salaries to the P5 teams they are playing?) and every game brings much excitement. Following mid major college sports can be much fun, especially if you don't have unrealistic high major expectations.

Maybe 50?

In the season.

The coaching staff will bench him next week. They think he's all worn out and too tired to play. Plus he missed a couple blocks and fumbled once...

From Harb himself: "I love my teammates and coaches ... stayed with me and had my back through adversity ‘ great win guys #NIU"
Badmoonrising should be badnewsspewing. Dude are you trying to win the most ignored/block list winner? Sounds like you got a few more during this week's game.

Harbison getting a chance to redeem himself was awesome. People want to be with other positive people and you can tell that the team vibe is just what you need to be a winner. Harbs seems to be appreciative of that approach.

Yep, even MD is positive and had nice things to say. Let's relish this because I really want to go to Detroit.

RE: NIU v. EMU Game Thread
It’s more than just the negativity that has turned people off from this site, it’s the complete lack of football knowledge. Case in point, the comment that Harbison has only (1) one play. That one play has several options to it, including the hand off to Harbison. If the play looks the same, it’s likely because it’s working, and the same hole is being opened. This one play is a RPO, if given the ball, Harbison has the freedom to pick the open hole based on zone blocking scheme by the O-line. A Read Pass Option allows the OB to read the defensive line and based on what he sees, he has 3 options: hand it off the the RB, keep it or pass it.

Another point, you have to be blind to not see Carey’s commitmet to Childers development. Starting last year and extending through this season, Carey has been all in on Childers, sticking with him even though at times he has been simply woeful. Isn’t that the essence of development?

Development is a strong word, I don't think that is what was going on with Childers. NIU does not have a better QB on the roster, and Carey is responsible for that. When I think of the word development, I don't think just of playing time, I think of a commitment to help someone improve. Childers has not shown the strides in improvement and I don't think its a mistake, because QBs do not improve under Carey. There is still time for Childers to develop into a good QB, he has obstacles to overcome from within though, and most QBs don not have to battle against that. One thing we know for sure about Childers the dude is a competitor. The way he willed himself to that rushing first down late in the game, gave me very brief shades of JL.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. NIU never ran a true RPO last year and that has been completely scrapped this year. Childers never reads the defense the very few times he's run a play action. We have run some zone reads but that's a simple read. Carey would never trust the QB to have three options on a play. 03-lmfao

Just making point of the fact that after rushing for 124 yards he got 4 carries the following week. If that gets me blocked or ignored I could not care less.

If you don’t like what I have to say call me out on it. Don’t be a weenie. Otherwise, keep me out of your ignorant posts.
