I have a feeling we'll all be pleasantly surprised and the rest of the CBB world shocked. Penny is going into territory where other players turned coaches have failed, but there is a different mindset with him. There's an intangible that he just has and I believe it will be what leads him to succeed where others have failed.

I listen to that I see and hear I guy that like you said, gets it. He fully understands the pieces he has, how they fit into the vision that he has, where those pieces need to grow, ....all of it. Highly impressed.

I think it's huge he's surrounding himself with people who can help him in his staff. We are talking about a guy who wanted to hire Larry Brown, who isn't afraid to have Sam Mitchell on his staff or Mike Miller who is more of a media darling than he his. Media relations was never Penny's thing. He does it because it's part of the job. He looks like he's enjoying it.

A lot of coaches don't like to take advice from others. Maybe it's an ego thing, I don't know, but Penny understands that a head coach needs good supporting coaches to win. He definitely gets it.
