You do understand statistics right? You're taking 1 season over 10 season where they were bowl eligible 10 years in a row and in those 10 years had multiple double digit wins.
You win. Don't play any P5 teams and only FCS and bottom feeder G5 teams so you can make a bowl. That will surely excite the UTSA fan base and grow attendance.
Why r you even talking you don't play any P5's. You've played 2 in the last 3 years.
We've played 5 P5 teams in last 3 years, not including a bowl game.
So what does that average Einstein ? You've also played more G5's and FCS teams. But you're telling me we should play more P5's, but you play more FCS teams & G5 teams OOC than P5's. So worry about your attendance and push for your team playing more P5's. Not bottom feeder P5's either

Do you read? I said 2 P5's, 2G5's or 1 G5 & 1 FCS. Just like everyone else does
Sorry, I got the no P5 understanding from your post #15 in this thread where you said your AD needed to stop scheduling P5 teams.

For the last time, I'm saying play 2 P5 teams, then 1 FCS and 1 G5. Like Texas St & Incarnate word so our attendance is way up. Then play A Baylor or Texas or A team that will draw large crowds. I just don't want to play 3 P5 teams in a row. We aren't that good yet. Plus no one else plays 3 P5's.

I was just correcting your 2 P5 statement. You do realize you are bashing Southern Miss for doing the very scheduling you advocated UTSA do?
LSU, Auburn and UK aren't bottom feeders. And yes, Southern Miss attendance needs to improve, no doubt about that. UTSA attendance looks very good and is helping the overall conference stay above 20k average. Much appreciated.

But in years where both P5 games are away, I wouldn't mind seeing us schedule an FCS to balance it out a bit more. I wouldn't want us to schedule an FCS yearly though.
That said, there are definitely G5's out there, and more than just a handful, who would've won against both K-State and Baylor this season. We lost to both, but not so much because it's only the 8th year of our program, rather because we're just not a very good team this year.
Are there any FCS teams near San Antonio? Curious how your attendance was impacted if so and you guys played them. I know Southern Miss has really good attendance when we play a nearby FCS team.
Why not play an FCS team every year? The SEC does it. I think it is even more important now since a redshirt can play in 4 games.
When scheduling OOC, it can be difficult to predict how good a team will be several years out.
Like one of our best receivers just stated, he came to Southern Miss because he knew we'd be playing Auburn and Alabama. Even though those are likely big losses when we play them, there is still a benefit.
The only one close to us are the Incarnate Word Cardinals; they're actually in San Antonio. They're new to football also though, as they started their football program only 2 years before we started ours, so this is their 10th season. We have a game scheduled against them next year. We're playing at Baylor and at Texas A&M next year again also, and still have one open date for another OOC matchup. Incarnate Word is 0-5 against FBS competition so far, their closest game being a 27-17 loss to UTEP in 2015.
Texas Southern (Houston) isn't too far though (3 hours). In Houston, there's also Houston Baptist, which likewise just recently started their football program. Prairie View A&M isn't too far either. FCS schools which are farther away than those schools are Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian, and Lamar, with Lamar probably being the farthest.

I am on the same page with needing an FCS & TSXT on the schedule for wins and home games. I only ask that you not be such a jerk when talking to other fans. The way you talk to people is why you got kicked off Rowdytalk.com. I do love your passion.

Yea I expected more but until we start winning all of our Texas alumni base is in hiding. I like how they curtained off the top bowl at the Alamodome. It does look better.

I was at the UNT - LA Tech Game. It felt like the biggest crowd I've seen for a UNT game at Apogee Stadium.
Turns out I was right.

Great crowd tonight at Apogee Stadium, Texas home of the LA Tech Bulldogs.
Seriously though. VERY BIG crowd AND VERY LOUD tonight. Good showing by UNT.
One complaint from this visitor: UNT has GOT to do something about having so many people (25K?) cram onto that one crossover bridge, just to get over the interstate and to our cars. It was very bad tonight, because you guys had an unusually large crowd.
If I was a UNT fan, that would literally prevent me from being a season ticket holder and going to the games that draw good crowds. It took about 30 minutes for us to cross that bridge tonight. Dumb stuff. If you spend $60M on a new stadium, why not spend another $1M or $2M more to get better access, or more bridges, etc..?
