RE: EMU Predictions
Will the NIU fans start booing RC if this thing goes off the rails tomorrow or no because most of the NIU fans there are parents/family.

RE: EMU Predictions
Looks like about 65% of the posters on the MAC bbs pick'em thread have picked EMU over NIU. A win here would be nice to maintain street cred..

Fingers crossed, GO HUSKIES!

Yea I was thinking that too. Hopefully the Huskies re-establish themselves in this game.

RE: EMU Predictions
There are certain fans who will incessantly call Carey *&^%#$%^&&**(^%#@# repeatedly and incessantly. Makes me want to move to different sections. I'm not claiming any sanctified space as to never having questioned any calls, being frustrated or exasperated, I do/have with almost every FB coach from Novak on, since I re-started paying attention to NIU FB. But sometimes..manytimes enough is enough. Similar to Maddawgz posts.

Childers was more aggressive in passing during the 2nd half of the FSU game. I hope that was a coaching decision. All coaches hate turnover; however we need to be more aggressive with our O and open the playbook. Our D is good, but not good enough that 236 yards and 14 points per game is going to win many if any games.

The difference in the second half is Childers stepped up in the pocket. In previous games, he would try to run from the pressure. When he stepped up, he found receivers.

RE: EMU Predictions
Until I see otherwise, I'm going to expect more of the same. The offense is no where to be found while the defense plays their asses off and is on the field for way too long.

NIU- 16
EMU- 24

RE: EMU Predictions
Key of the game to me, get off to a freaking fast start. In the first half this year NIU has scored a total of 24 points in 8 quarters of play, or exactly 3 points a quarter. That obviously is not going to cut it. Treat the opening few drives with a sense of urgency!

RE: EMU Predictions
I really think the offensive problems are coaching issues: schematically and with poor personnel decisions. They are treating Childers like a 70 percent passer instead of the 50 percent passer that he is. And obviously, they are severely underutilizing Harbison. Just get the ball to Harbs in many different ways and it will open up the play action which will help out Childers and the receivers tremendously. If we did that I don't think we'll have the worst offense in the country. But the coaches have shown zero inkling to changing anything on offense so that's why so many Huskie faithful and picking their team to lose. The coaches need to get their head out of the butts...

I agree with you badmoonrising. However, I'm guessing this had more to do with the coaches trying to help Childers become a better passer for conference play. It was also because the Defenses were stacking the box. I suspect we'll now go back to a more balanced run/pass mix (or at least I hope so).

Just watched Maxx Crosby highlight you tube video. He is a Sutton Smith clone. Have a feeling he will feast on Childers.

If Childers was placed in right system where he had a chance to complete passes, I think he could be very effective. Harbison is a good player but I feel like he is that type of player that needs to benefit from pass being established. He is a player that needs some initial daylight to be effective. He isn't going to be the back to break good runs when defense is keying on the run

Hopefully buffalo pulls it off. Good hire, Wisconsin white water coach, and good stadium. They and Toledo have best path for success in MAC

I disagree about Harbs. At least in two games last year, he sealed a victory with big first down runs when 11 guys were keying on the run. That's when I was really impressed with him.
