42 Days before the first game...
Most teams are kicking off the official start of fall practice on Tuesday, September 25. That's the earliest allowable date, 42 days before the first non-exhibition game on November 6.

Here's hoping that Forbes announces an open practice before too long. Can't wait to get a look at this year's Bucs.

Any idea who we may be playing in those preseason friendlies? We beat UNCW and App St last year if I remember correctly. Not that those really matter

Not sure yet.. it was UNCA not wilmington.. but somestimes either Jon Rothstein, Jeff Goodman, or Fran Fraschilla will mention a closed scrimmage on twitter. Good follows

Is Bo hurt? I saw a picture of him wearing a boot. I know they put athletes in a boot often these days, but would like to know if it is significant.

A snippet of what we can expect from Tray Boyd. He simply knows how to score.

Who in this conference can guard that? A.J. Merriweather is gone.
Answer: I think nobody.

RE: 42 Days before the first game...
Scoring seems effortless for him. If you haven't seen his freshman year JUCO highlights:

Or his sophomore year JUCO highlights:

How about as a 16 year old? He's had that stroke a while.

There's rumored to be a video of Tray as a toddler absolutely killing it with a nerf ball in his playpen, but I haven't been able to find a copy.

Seriously, what seems effortless in athletes is usually the result of countless hours of sweat and toil over a lifetime. Kind of like what Don Henley of the Eagles once said in answer to an interviewer who asked him what it took to be a great musician: "A high tolerance for repetition". But if anyone looks like a natural, someone just born with the touch, it's Tray Boyd III.

I know it's just a practice video but Boyd looks like the type of player that can take over a game if he needs to. We somewhat missed having that last year but had it in Cromer the year before and Guyn the year before that.

In interview after interview Forbes has always mentioned Patrick Good as part of the core of the team, along with Bo, Mladen and Jeromy. But Pun Tisdale missed the summer workouts due to injury.

Now in the John Hooper interview, Forbes singles out Pun as impressing him with his high character and will to win.

When we had Ge'lawn Guyn, there was still room for 20 minutes from Petey McClain. Petey was a fine passer and defender, but both Patrick and Pun have offensive games that Petey didn't dare to dream about.

Don't know which will start, but I think that both Pun and Patrick will play a big role this year.

If word about Bo's offensive improvement is to be believed, there may be more than one.

RE: 42 Days before the first game...
If Tray had only range, he'd be deadly enough. What impresses me about him, though, is he can take it to the rim, beat his man off the dribble, take it the length of the floor, and of course, possesses that trademark range and quick release. He looked absolutely lethal on that breakaway.
As Poster' stated, ain't nobody stopping this kid. I suspect he's just getting started with a ceiling not yet in sight.

UNCG and Wofford are known quantities, returning most key players (except for 6-6 Marvin Smith from the Spartans). Plus a couple of promising additions each in 6-9 250 Eric Hamilton and 6-9 260 Mohammed Abdulsalam for UNCG, and 6-9 225 Soph transfer Chevez Goodwin and freshmen 6-6 215 Messiah Jones and 6-7 185 Isaiah Bigelow for Wofford.

ETSU is the unknown. Heck, we lost 6 of our top 8 players. Everybody has to guess if Tray is really as good as he looked in JUCO, and whether Patrick, Bo, Jeromy and Pun are what Forbes says this year. And whether the Bucs can build the toughness that they showed last year.

The rankings make sense... for the preseason.

It just gives the Bucs reason to develop some of that edge that the coaches are looking for. ETSU has something to prove.

Don’t forget local Gate City product Zac Ervin committed to play for Wofford for 2019. While not as flashy as McClung I think he will be a better college player.

I know it's early and he hasn't even played a game for ETSU, but I just get the feeling he could be one we continue to talk about for many years to come.

Like I have said before, so many on this team I am looking forward to seeing play. BB season can't get here soon enough.
