RE: YOU’RE GOING DOWN LA TECH!!!
I still have a tremendous amount of respect for UNT and will be rooting for them the rest of the season. That said, I was glad to get the win and if certainly bolstered my confidence in Tech's chances at a CUSA title for 2018.

Secondary is not great either, Tech receivers were burning them all night but JMAR has trouble finding open receiver.
Good in 1 phase offense, other 2 phases (defense, special teams) average.
Tech is just more talented than UNT, no one on UNT is as talented as Jaylon and Amik, and those two dominant the game. Fine would not throw at Amik and Amik blocked the FG
hahaha...you couldn't be further from the truth with your assessment
you do realize that the number 1 cb left injured early in the first half?
dline, certainly a la tech superiority (got damned ferguson!), others...nah and not even close...amik is damn good, but your lbs??? nope...but good try
before the game, hedlund hadn't missed a fg, was clutch...random fumble on a fair catch, yet the return game and special teams is not better than yours? please look at the ncaa stats
la tech won saturday, not due to superiority in 2 of the 3 phases for the year, but la tech won...in the end, that's all that matters
i could play the same game about my assessment of la tech...but i won't, i truly don't know your team and you can't judge off of one game.
....I attended the game in Denton. I just got the impression that when Mason Fine graduates and moves on, UNT is going to be very average again. I think Mason Fine is THE heart, and soul of UNT's 2018 team, and everyone else feeds off that. The rest are mostly average players. But Fine brings superior play to UNT's offense every week. IMO, without Fine, UNT goes from winning 10 or 11 games in 2018 to most likely winning 7. Fine is that important and impactful to UNT.
I honestly hope UNT runs the table the rest of the way, and finishes 11-1. Mason Fine is exciting, so UNT fans still have a HUGE reason to come out to Apogee and have fun.

I actually think our secondary has been the best part of our team this year. In fact, we lead the nation in interceptions. Obviously, that didn’t pan out vs. LA Tech. We had an overall bad game and had some key injuries.
But I do agree that Fine is the heart and soul of the team Yes, we will be impacted when he leaves. Anyone not named Alabama would when that happens. Luckily, we’re looking at a great recruiting class this year. Hopefully, that helps.

RE: YOU’RE GOING DOWN LA TECH!!!
We have about 5-6 highly regarded QB's on the roster, waiting in the wings for Fine to graduate. Are they as good as Mason Fine? Who knows. I do know that, in my opinion, a mistake made by our coaching staff against La Tech, was not replacing Fine in late 4th quarter when he could barely walk. His backup, Quinn Shanbour, is a decent passer and a very good runner. May not have changed the outcome of the game, but at least we would have had a slightly better chance of pulling out a win. Maybe not. Louisiana Tech has a very good team and played tough when it counted.

RE: YOU’RE GOING DOWN LA TECH!!!
After attending the game I'll agree with other posters about Mason Fine, he's special and has a lot of intangibles that can't be taught. Very similar to our own Amik Robertson in being under sized but just a playmaker with a knack of being at the right place at the right time. He's gonna be very difficult to replace just like when Amik leaves Tech.

RE: YOU’RE GOING DOWN LA TECH!!!
HEY ITS ME! I took the early part of this week to cool down after the loss. Congrats on beating us LA Tech fans. We made too many mistakes and y’all were able to capitalize on them. Y’all played a clean game. I’m not going to blame our loss on injuries (though we did have many to key players). But we played sloppy, and y’all played like you wanted it more. Again, congrats on the win.

Don't sweat it, at least your score prediction ( UNT wins at home 44-27) was much more reasonable than most of your compadres. Most of those were truly out of touch with reality

Well, he did show up. I’ll give him credit for that. Hopefully next week we can have some reasonable discussion on the UNT - USM game.
