Honestly I think almost anyone can beat anyone. Obviously App, Troy, and Astate are for real. Everyone else is a kinda flavor of the month. Coastal has been doing well. They could be the Cinderella team or they could crap the bed. It’s the same as ULM we could step up make a run or go 5-7 this year. Besides the top 3 it’s a crap show.

I am really curious this year about the gap between the top 3 and the rest of the league, and the middle 3-4 and the rest of the league. Has the rest of the league begun to catch up to the Top 3, or is it that the bottom of the league is just no longer as terrible as it once was?

Or, is this years surge more an example of weak OOC opponents? If Georgia Southern beats NMSU and UMass, does it mean the Eagles have turned the corner, or is it just that they happened to schedule 2 bottom 20 FBS teams in the same season?

We'll find the answer to that question out in the next couple weeks.

Someone clearly knows something I don't if they're only giving us 6.5 vs the Warhawks. Maybe I've let the pessimism come on too quickly.

Troy is going to beat the absolute **** out of us. You can bank on that.

Their talent is on a different level than ours. I’ve watched every single Coastal game this year (and every year for that matter) and I’ve caught 2 Troy games this year and I am telling you...that spread may actually be too generous to us.

It’s going to be a bloodbath. I’m just hoping we return home and beat ULM.

Come on man, have faith in your team! Unless this is a classic case of sandbagging...

04-chairshot

How is it even possible to sandbag when your team wins 3 games the previous season?

Starting the season 3-1 with one of those wins being a bad FCS team doesn’t make me all of the sudden believe we are going to go on the road and beat the defending SBC champions.

How could you possibly think that is sandbagging?

If it makes you feel any better, I’ll tell you when I think we should win. I think GSU, UMass, and USA should be wins for us. I think our team is superior to those from what I’ve seen this season.

I think ULM and Southern are toss up games where we could win or could lose.

I think App, stAte, and Troy are almost guaranteed losses.

That’s not sandbagging. That’s realism.

ULM hasn’t put anyone away in a while. We win close or lose close for the most part. Who knows I can’t tell you what’s going to happen. Our team is bipolar. I wouldn’t touch that 6.5 either way. How many injury’s do y’all have ? Is it as bad as ULM in 2017 ? 4 starting DBs were out and one guy played that tore his ACL in spring. By end of year two LBs were out as well. We played 5 true freshman on D.

FWIW, our only FBS win beat App's only FBS win 49-31. We got criticized by some for not doing that well against Clemson, but Clemson was up 42-7 on Tech in the 4th quarter (compared with 24-7 half way through the 4th).

I'm not saying that makes us equal with the top 3, but I have a pretty high level of confidence that we are significantly better than last year (a pretty low bar).

It won't matter. I'm not sure GS has enough players left to put 11 on the field. The injury bug has parked itself in ATL this season.

They are having the season ULM had last year. Getting down to playing walk-ons is not a fun way to watch football.

Against A State we had True Freshman LB and RS freshman 4th string walk on starting at LB. People didn’t even know who he was . I feel your pain the only positive is they’re getting reps for the future.

Posters around here may be familiar with Jerome Smith, one of the best coverage CBs in the league. Just learned that his football career is over. He was the captain of this defense and vocal/emotional leader on the field. This season is going downhill really fast. It's official, we are heading into a complete rebuild mode.

Don't sell yourself short....Bye hasn't been all that impressive this season and I understand there might be some internal issues about playing time. I also hear the Y's girlfriend is pregnant and that E maybe responsible.

Might be closer than you think!! 04-cheers

If Troy finds itself this week, Troy by 17.

If Troy is still looking for answers, Troy by 3-7.

Lock of the week!
Alabama - as many points as they want to score
Cajuns - as many points as Alabama allows us to score with their 4th string defense in the game

Seems like Elliot has lost the locker room. Having your defensive leader quit, especially after Elliot's rant in the post game presser, it doesn't look good for State for the rest of the season.

Here are my two predictions.

1. Bama's going to score however much they want.

2. I'm going to get too drunk to care about watching any other college football this week.
