On Coach K's Twitter Page today is a link to Luke Maranka's Twitter Page announcing that he has verbally committed to The University of Toledo for the 2019 Class. What makes this recruitment unique is that the 6-10 Maranka is home schooled and plays for the Grand Rapids Angels where he averaged 15 points per game as a Junior. In doing some additional research online today, while I was not able to find much, I was able to find that he is rated one of the top Power Forwards in the State of Michigan. Besides Toledo, several other MAC Programs offered Maranka as well. I look forward to hearing more about his game and potential impact on the Rockets Program beginning next season.

Wow- we’ll be taller than at anytime I can recall next year. 6’11” and a pair of (at least) 6’10” guys, plus at least one at 6’8”. BTW, I thought coaches couldn’t comment on verbal commits.

Nice height and build.

Bank Hoops, which always has a good take on Michigan players, has him as the #6 player in Michigan.

He seems to think he’s a 3, rather than a four. Prefers perimeter and at least one site says he’s a three. So, Knapkein the post and Edu and Maranka at 4-3. It’ll never happen but it’s a nice fantasy.

Can't knock the recruit. Size athletic nice stroke with range. Now. He hasn't played against as much good competition as the usual recruit. In most of his highlights he is throwing down massive dunks on 5-11 kids. kind of a knapke recruit who may need to redshirt but could be real good once he adjusts to playing against really good and big competition. UT may not have a scholarship if darrington doesn't get a waiver. But these are 3 pretty strong recruits who should be early loi signers. If darrington returns someone else will end up elsewhere. Overall, the roster long term looks great. To everyone always begging for size. UT has gone out and got a 2018 6-10 kid, 2019 6-10 recruit, athletic 6-8 and 6-7 forwards, and lanky 6-5 and 6-3 guards. 6 rides over 2 years good job coaches
