Came home, read everything I could find on the game while the wife watched TV. When she gave up and went to bed, I watched the replay until 2:00 this morning. Still smiling. I framed my memento ticket from the Bahamas Bowl. I now have another ticket to frame.

Packers fan here. I will also be watching, and couldn't care less about the result. Rodgers on one leg is super stressful...

I watched the VT coach post game interview. Fuente said, Foster threw everything and the kitchen sink at BL last night with different blitz packages and coverage but BL would make the adjustments and find the open guys.

Hes full of ****. Our coaches knew what formations put them in man and VT never adjusted out of it. Duhart/Fulgham couldnt be covered (and BL put it on the money).

Starts at 10:14 in the 1st quarter. I assume that's to get around cbs copyright or something.
I recorded it on YouTube TV and it starts at 8:00 in the 1st. It starts with them saying that the conclusion of Toledo & Nevada can be seen somewhere so I figured that is when they cut to our game. Fine with me because it was just in time for our first TD. I just wish there was a way to permanently save YouTube TV.

The icing on the cake was they didnt lose this game playing badly. They didnt turn it over. We didnt get every break. No fluke plays (they had the big plays). We beat them at the LOs and shoved it down their throats.

We did screw up and glad it didnt cost us. We didnt have to run a play and should have just kneeled down with 1:45 secs and no TOs. Also, hard to blame Cox but he should have just went down after the first down. I mean its tough to pass up on the TD tho!

It costed Oregon game last night.

I never thought I would say this but this feels better than beating VCU in bb. I have been a football fan only because ODU's name is on the jersey. I have watched the games on the various social media outlets and go to one or two a year. Quite frankly I am generally not a college football fan but this game got me charged up. Taking down the hokies was good for my system. My apologies to Monarch faithful for not being all in on the football thing but it's fair to say I am hooked now.

So what changed in a week? Last week we were a 0-3 team and now we're a team that put 49 points on VaTech.

Wearing my ODU swag this week.

He isn't full of ****. Yes our coaches scouted Tech and knew what formations put them in man-to-man situations, but to suggest that Tech didn't change anything defensively throughout the entire game in an attempt to stop the passing game is simply incorrect. At one point they even resorted to dropping back 8 men in coverage and only rushing 3.

Their biggest problem was a combination of them having smaller corners than our 6'-3" receivers (Duhart and Fulgham) as well as them being a Freshman and Sophomore where our two main receivers are much more experienced and physically mature Seniors. Many times the coverage was there, but they just got out muscled, out sized on the catch. Just like it is in basketball, a good big player will usually beat a good smaller player head to head.

As mentioned above I have only watched the games on social media, but I have seen them all. The biggest difference it seemed to me was hitting the receivers with the ball. I know the Liberty game was a blow out but I still believe we would have been in that game late if we hit some wide open plays in that first half. Let's face it, our QB play has been awful in the first 3 games. I think Williams is a great kid but he is too erratic for my liking.

I agree with that assessment. When a team has a wide open receiver behind the defense the QB has to give the guy a chance to catch the ball. ODU had missed too many of those opportunities during the first 3 games.

They played man on almost every down. Every big play in the 4th Quarter was man coverage. They were cocky enough to believe he could play man with their corners against our WRs and they got torched. They still played safeties 6-8 yards off the LOS and in manvs our TEs (lol).

We are not a good running team. We still only had like 50 yards through 3 quarters and 22 was a scramble by BL. But they still focused on stopping the run even though their front 7 could easily stop it.

It was a hard headed move by Foster. Early in the third I yelled out “they cant cover our Wrs, they have no chance.” And damn if they didnt change a thing and Duhart /Fulgham torched them.

Wilder mentioned it. He said it is so much easier to throw in man bc corners have back to the ball. He knew VT would not change gamplan and they knew what formations to get in.

Williams missed a ton of throws in week 1 and slowly improved. But BL puts passes on the money and attacked downfield like we’ve never seen him do. All bc it they stayed in man.
