Virginia Tech has given up way too many penalties. Really undisciplined when they're up against the wall. On the other side, ODU has had some offensive drives that have made the vaunted Hokie defense look absolutely pedestrian.

Then today you have winless and historically bad Purdue over ranked ACC team Boston College and now winless ODU leading an even better ranked ACC team Va Tech late in 4th quarter. (Tied again now at 35, but still.) Might they have forgotten the donuts and clapping in country club pre-game prep? (ODU scored again, 41-35.)

These ODU receivers are catching anything that hangs up in the air. Virginia Tech's secondary absolutely cannot play the ball.

FSU collapsed; Wake dominated by ND; BC overrated after a few early wins UMASS, Holy Cross, and the aforementioned Wake; and now pre-season hyped VaTech in a struggle after having played only William & Mary and FSU. All of the ACC's "good" results have been against FCS teams, UMASS, or each other.

Old Dominion came into the weekend ranked all the way down at 116th nationally in scoring offense at 18 points per game.

ODU scores 3 make that 4 TDs (so far) in 4Qtr.

Bailiff was more of a biscuits and gravy for a pregame meal, from what I understand. But yes, these are the wins I hope Bloomgren can deliver us.

VaTech made the news... ODU was incidental, and unless they go on a serious winning streak, which seems unlikely, they will fade to obscurity pretty quickly.
