Just cause we ain't playin' Football this weekend; doesn't mean we can't win at something! And, yes I know it's just a Club sport (or maybe NCAA Division III) but a starving MT Fan will take it. Like a Life Raft for a drowning man. So, here is my question: Anybody else in CUSA play Hockey? Any chance it becomes a conference sport or would that get squashed by Title 9 issues (like a requirement for women's La Crosse, Badminton, Gymnastics, etc.)?

It's funny, in most of the world, when you say "hockey", you usually mean "ice hockey". So, I was very surprised that MT and Vandy play it. Took me a while that you were talking about field hockey, the Olympic sport played on grass.

Actually, we're talking :"bona fide" Ice Hockey. In Nashville, the Predators and Metro Government decided to build a new public Ice Rink (separate and apart from BridgeStone Arena, where the Preds play). So, both Vanderbilt and MTSU are playing Ice Hockey there along with some other universities in the SECHL (Southeastern Collegiate Hockey League). We've even got high school Ice Hockey teams in Nashville to accommodate all the Yankees who now call the Metro area home.

Oh, color me impressed.

FAU did have a club-level ice hockey team (the Ice Owls) when I was there in the mid-90s. But I do not think they played at the collegiate level.
