Best college football atmospheres?
I fell in love with college Football in Highschool. During my junior year of Highschool I ushered at Northwestern Football games. Got a chance to see Dwayne Bates, David Boston, Ron Dwayne, A-Train, Drew Brees before they went big time. Back when Ryan Field was rockin. When I got to NIU, I fell in love with the underdog Huskies and got see the transition from winning 0 games to 4 the next season to contending. Getting interviewed while waisted by random reporters during the tailgate before a Toledo game by Sports Illustrated.Got to see some great games with the rise of Michael Turner, and Garrett Wolfe. Use to love and still love Thundersticks and screaming RED, BLACK! What’s the best college football atmosphere you’ve ever been in? Florida State made the cut for most hyped:

The tomahawk gesture is politically incorrect and an insult to Native Americans. All fans doing it should have their arms cut off. Nothing less would suffice!

Camp Randall Stadium, with the structure shaking to "Jump Around" at the end of each third quarter.

Script Ohio performed by the best damn band in the land is pretty cool. Living in Columbus, Ohio I have seen it performed many times and many of my colleagues have had sons and daughters in the band.

Michigan, Tennessee, Nebraska are all great atmospheres. Of course the ones already mentioned are great too. Love the pageantry of college and hope we can recapture some of what’s been lost with enrollment decline etc.

What's best in our general area, say Illinois and the surrounding states? I've not been to Notre Dame, anyone? I saw Michigan (when NIU played there) and that was sooo over the top, you could have made it a 3 day event. Wisconsin or Iowa are the only other ones I bet come close.

Hopefully this is a bit satirical... and yes, I am defensive about the native american PC stuff when it comes to FSU. However, just to be clear, the Seminole Tribe of Florida not only endorses the use of Seminoles, but we also fly their flag at all home games and other athletic events on campus. The Seminole Indians also help to design the uniforms that FSU wears, and most importantly, provide the outfit and for the mascot. They have defended FSU's use of the logo consistently and always point out they don't need any government or group of people to explain to them what they should do... very good letter from Chief Billie to NCAA if anyone want to look it up...

Sorry, this is just a sensitive subject to me.

NIU has its own version called the “Mad Dash” where students head for the exit after the 1st quarter.

The ABSOLUTE best tradition in all of college football is right here in our beloved Huskie Stadium when we complete the announcer's "And that's another Huskie.......FIRST DOWN (brought to you by First Midwest Bank)!!"

You were probably referring to my comment about the tomahawk chop and, yes, it was completely satirical. It was a satirical comment on political correctness gone awry. I feel that many of these gestures or symbols show respect for the Native Americans, but some just do not see it that way. Luckily, the Seminoles see things the right way. Does FSU provide some funding for the Seminoles?

Pretty sure they get a box at the stadium and maybe some scholarships. The tribe does pretty well with their casinos.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was and sorry for the confusion.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is probably the richest tribe in the country. They have the casinos, but also bought the Hard Rock franchise for $965 million. They also own the naming rights to the Miami Dolphins stadium. They are a very well funded and well run tribe, that probably has a lot to do with the fact they never surrendered and actually have only a truce between them and the United States. Technically, there is still a state of war which leads to why FSU has the Unconquered statue and saying. They are pushing now to production of legalized marijuana and their chief could become the first native american billionaire.

To answer your question, and even with all that wealth (non-taxable of course), children from the Seminole Tribe of Florida, do get free tuition to Florida State if they choose to go in the form of a scholarship. A couple years ago, we finally had a football player that was from the tribe and actually caught a touchdown in a game when we were scoring points. Surprisingly, there have not been many tribe members to take up this offer.

If you go to the game, you will see some Seminole Tribe members at the game. They will be dressed in more traditional ways and are easy to spot at times.
