Of course it's a money grab, that's what companies are in business to do.

But it also has a strategic role, it's designed to make sure ESPN has a foothold in the cord-cut trend rather than just being victimized by it in terms of lost cable subscribers.

i know its a money grab. But I just find it dirty to make people pay for stuff that came with ESPN before this addition was launched. ESPN is already expensive as it is lol. But that is the business world, so i get it. they are trying to make as much money as possible.

When did ESPN have the ability to show 8 Serie A games at the same time? Or multiple college football games starting every half hour? Even if they had another ESPNU they couldn’t stuff all the football games they show on Saturday throughout the week. Same with all the soccer content they have that wasn’t previously on ESPN. Everything is a money grab. That’s how companies make money
