Divers use ROV to recover body from 1000' in Lake Tahoe
Interesting story, but sad. I know my ass is a terrible swimmer, I'd never jump in water that deep without a life jacket. I wonder how they found the body

There's a pretty great documentary on Netflix called Diving into the Unknown. It follows some extreme Finnish divers who attempt to rescue the bodies of two of their friends in an underground submerged cave system in Norway.

The story is pretty amazing,

BBC: The Cave Divers Who Went Back For Their Friends

Thanks, I'll check that out. Divers have always fascinated me cause its something that I could just never see myself attempting due to the aforementioned terrible swimming skills.

At one time I was a certified PADI Divemaster. You don't have to have strong swimming skills to scuba dive. I am not a strong swimmer (I can save myself but if I had to save an adult I would have problems) but you put fins on me and I am Mark Spitz. If you have a wet suit on it helps tremendously because wet suits are buoyant.

It's so dry out there that to find a body in Lake Tahoe you just look for some moisture.

Water temperature in Lake Tahoe, even this time of year, can be low to mid 60s. Without a wetsuit it can be quite a shock to the system, even for a strong swimmer. It's really easy to panic when all your muscles contract and it becomes a little hard to breathe. Dangerous conditions for a weak swimmer (but I have no idea of this person's swimming skills).
