I met some cool Ga State folks last Friday night. Any Jags coming up this weekend?

Unfortunately I'll not be at the game. I'll be out of state this weekend. I know some on the Jag board have indicated they are going if you want to interact with them there.

Wife and I will making the trip up on Friday. Looking for some Memphis BBQ and good blues. I have only been through Memphis on business so this is a 1st for pleasure. We are staying downtown and really don't want to drive once we get in place. Any recommendations on Friday dinner or Saturday pregame?

Downtown, the best BBQ recommendation I can give is Central BBQ or Blues City Cafe. Rendezvous is the more famous touristy spot, but the ribs at either of those spots are better. Blues City is actually on Beale. As far as good live music, pick your place on Beale Street. Once you start walking down Beale, you'll hear the music coming from pretty much every spot. Can't go wrong.

South's pep band, I hear is making the trip.

Yes, I second Central BBQ. It’s right by the Civil Rights Museum. Another good option is Gus’s Fried Chicken.

I second this list. For the love of donuts, do NOT go to The Pig on Beale. You will be disappointed. Blue City Cafe definitely has the best BBQ on Beale St.
