Tennessee is truly awful.

There's nothing left of Nebraska but husks and empty dry cobs.

RE: SEC Week Four
Kentucky is doing well. Like I posted previously, I just had a feeling they were better than everyone was giving them credit for after beating Florida. Now with that win over State, they are in a great position to make some noise this year.

As far as Auburn goes. We definitely need to work something out. Our O-line is inexperienced and a bit below SEC standard. Running game would be ok if Boobie could run in 35 times a game and stay healthy.

I just don't understand Gus sometimes. We have a terrible redzone offense. Our kicker is young. He may have the leg but he is struggling outside of 40+ with accuracy. 50% on the season.

So it really does us no good to nickle and dime our way down the field. If our RB's/WR's don't make some spectacular play to score, then it's a struggle to score points.

Nebraska can always find local, nicely corn-fed linebackers. It's the backs with speed they have to recruit from wherever.

I seldom understand Gus. Otherwise I find your analysis pretty much spot on!

As soon as Nick Saban wins his 6th this year with his best team ever, a Heisman winner and ties Bear Bryant he retires right? 03-wink

I have no idea what Nick Saban will do with himself when he retires.

It will be the year after that when he breaks Bear's record.

BTW: I been around through Bear's tenure at Alabama and this is the possibly the best Alabama team I've ever seen. That's scary.

As I see it they are a step ahead of Georgia and Clemson, and two steps ahead of Ohio State and probably 3 steps ahead of Oklahoma. They, right now, are truly in a class by themselves.

L.S.U. and Auburn are incomplete. L.S.U. lacks depth on offense and has deficiencies on special teams. Auburn lacks a back and experience in the O line. I think you will be able to put A&M, Auburn and L.S.U. in a hat and depending upon breaks winners will emerge. Kentucky and maybe Missouri fall into that category in the East.

Ole Miss has no D. The land sharks have turned into land sharts. Mississippi State will be a tough team to play physically but they seem to lack offensive punch.

Arkansas is in a tough spot.

I think the East is Georgia with a drop to Kentucky, another drop to Florida, Missouri, and South Carolina, a drop to Vanderbilt and then to Tennessee.

Well, he's got 5 at Bama, but 6 overall if you count the title at LSU. For record keeping purposes, he's already tied Bryant although the record might feel a little different if he gets 6 at one school.

I'm sure that in the back of his mind he's keeping track of those sorts of records, but I don't think it drives him. He seems to derive a sense of purpose from grinding out every single day and maximizing his potential. Even Bryant had a lull in his career around the late 1960s, but Saban seems to have a very different personality.

This year's team does feel like the best one Bama's had in my lifetime although obviously I haven't seen as many iterations as you have. Still a lot of games to play though and the best teams we'll see are in the future.

Bryant's lull came because of segregation that he was willing to abandon but which his state's politicians were not.
