I thought Leipold was a bit of a dud after his first two years but he's really built UB up to a solid team.

It's a pretty early to speculate, but UB has a pretty mild schedule. Is 12-0 possible?

I don’t think 12-0 is happening. Some of the MAC games will be very tough for UB. . Sometimes you just have an off week, and injuries happen too. I’m thrilled they are 4-0. I thought before the season 8 wins was realistic but they are exceeding that so far.

That Rutgers freshman QB was really bad. Can’t believe they started him. He’s not a passing threat or a running threat, can’t believe a Big10 team doesn’t have a better prospect in house. Maybe he will get better, just seemed lost.

He had offers from a bunch of top programs, but I think they were mostly stale. He didn't even start his senior year at IMG. Minnesota's freshman QB did.

Look, I get why my colleagues are picking Buffalo to win this game. Buffalo has looked impressive in winning its first three games, and boast three players — linebacker Khalil Hodge, quarterback Tyree Jackson and wide receiver Anthony Johnson — who could be playing on Sundays in the near future.

But, simply put, Rutgers is the more talented team. We spend months during the offseason scouring through recruiting rankings and here is how Rutgers and Buffalo compare since 2015, according to the 247Sports.com national rankings:

2015: Rutgers (56), Buffalo (118)
2016: Rutgers (64), Buffalo (118)
2017: Rutgers (42), Buffalo (113)
2018: Rutgers (57), Buffalo (136)

While recruiting rankings are far from an exact science, they generally offer a good gauge of the talent-level in each program on a yearly basis.

Again, Buffalo features some talented players. Rutgers has low-level talent compared to most Big Ten foes.

But don't get caught up in thinking a Buffalo team that features MAC-level recruits has comparable talent overall. It doesn't.

That guy must feel like an idiot. Sometimes the eye test and season results tell a better story.

I guess we also shouldn't get caught up with thinking that "talent" alone decides a game ... a team of players coached to work together and working in a system that takes advantage of the talent available may well thrash a more talented "team" of individuals playing without the discipline to learn the skills require or a system that takes advantage of their talents.

UB's recent basketball success and a Bull pounding of Rutgers make UB a replacement candidate............ for Rutgers in the Big Ten

Well, it might not be an upgrade, but I'm sure the welcome mat would be out for Rutgers in the MAC. At least it's pretty good recruiting grounds.

Delany wanted the metro NYC television market.

Granted college football is not a big thing over there, college basketball rules the roost. But there are enough TV sets with the B1G Network where they probably would've considered inviting Fordham just to get a presence there.
