So for some of us a chance for optimism in the midst of the worst football season ever.

For others of us just another thing to gripe and bitc# about.

You decide for yourselves which camp you fall in.

If Dickens is eligible, I have reason for optimism. If not, I just don't see how a team with no inside game can make much noise. We will be decent without him, but with him we may actually be good. 16-18 wins without Dickens, 20+ with him.

We'll get 20 wins either way. But we might actually have a shot at a meaningful postseason with Dickens.

I think we are putting too much on Dickens. You have to be a pretty special player to impact a team by 4 wins. This is a guy that is raw, he would be defense and rebounding guy in the early stages. I like him and he has upside, but its not like he's going to be a back to the basket-14 points per game scorer

My perspective on that is not what he brings immediately but having depth at his size. The depth makes me feel much more optimistic about the season allowing folks to stay fresher. Otherwise I agree I don't expect him to come in and be a game changer.

Basketball is my sport and ODU Basketball is the team I root for through thick and thin! I can't wait for the season to start and I am going to enjoy every single minute of it, win or lose.

I would hope that the more vocal critics among us will tone it down a little this year given Jeff Jones' health situation.

I am ever the optimist!

The development of Reece and Ezipke will be crucial this year. If they prove to be as talented as people have told me they are, we could be really good this year. Some people will really hate me for saying this, but next year, we are going to be really really good.

Kithcart
Wade
Green
Godwin
Reece
Ezipke
Dickens

That core will be the most highly touted group, as far as recruiting goes, that the school has ever seen. The future looks extremely bright.

I agree but a few more solid recruiting classes and an NCAA berth is needed to really get some momentum.

+1 on the impact of depth. It's been a long time for us.

Yeah, I don't see Dickens making a massive difference this year either way. Long term, I think he will bring a boost to the program, but I seriously doubt if he is ready to do that in 2 months.

Dickens is there for up to 5 fouls, a rebound or tow and maybe a put back now and again. Most importantly however, a body on the floor to give a breather for others.

So what's the protocol for flying the Fire Bobby Wilder and Fire Jeff Jones flags simultaneously? Which one goes to the left? When do they go half-staff/mast? Do the other coaches have flags or do we just use a generic Fire Non-Revenue Coach(es) flag?

Just fly a flag with a picture of a Rhombus on it. People will understand

Come on man!!!! Dickens can play....I don't know where this notion that he is raw and over rated.... Dickens is REAL good....with him we can win CUSA...without him..no way..5 fouls 1 rebound and a put back,,,every now and then..WTF...you obviously have not seen him play.

Dickens is very talented. Hes also raw. Hes only overrated if you claim hes worth 4 wins. He would have to be like the best player in conference for that to be true.

Right on point ! I have said this exact same thing. I will add if he works hard he can be an all conference player next year.
