Coaches' Shirts
Anyone know why the coaching staff wears white, long sleeved (no collar) white shirts at the games? Isn't a great look IMO, plus how about blue or gold?

RE: Coaches' Shirts
Often wondered why baseball coaches wear a baseball uniform for games. Wouldn't it be weird to see the basketball and football coaches doing the same thing? Maybe we should be trendsetters and do it. Might be a little hard to pick up signals off the sideline, but it would be amusing to see. Used to back in the day when I was growing up, coaches would wear slacks, white shirt, tie and football cleats. Kind of the Woody Hayes, Vince Lombardi (who also wore a sport coat) and Joe Paterno look. Then you had Hank Shram and Tom Landry with full suit and a fedora. Seem to remember the Toledo coaching staff under Lauderbur going with the slacks, white shirt, ties and cleats.

Changes in coaches football attire seem to match what you see throughout America now. No one dresses up anymore - not even for weddings or funerals. Casual Friday turned into casual all week and jeans became the new casual on Fridays. Soon it will be jeans and t-shirts all week and workout apparel on Friday - to the chagrin of Joseph Aboud and Hart Schaffner & Marx and the joy of Under Armor and Nike...

Think they also do that with their new “polo” shirt from Nike. My sons HS is a Nike school (yes, they even have them at the HS level) and the players wear similar shirts with no collar on game day.

I would say its so they stand out on the sidelines around all the uniforms of blue and gold. Road game with team wearing white I suspect it will be different
