non state flagship schools may pick up or lose fans as they have success in sports but they will never have the automatic statewide support and recognition that the state's flagship school gets. Boise state may be the only school in a state where nobody cares about the flagship.

It’s. It about being more popular then UArkansas, it’s about closing the gap, if even only a little.

RE: Happy Birthday Arkansas State!
The funny part is most of the hard core stAte fans have moved on. My attitude, and it's shared by many, is that they will always be what they are, a perennial bottom of the SEC west team with a fickle following of t-shirt fans from across the state. There's nothing we can do to change the years of brain washing that Frank Broyles implemented of "there's only one team in Arkansas" other than keep winning. What's more, I don't care. I'd much rather have 30,000 devoted fans who want to watch good football and winning teams. They might have a 76,000 seat stadium but when you play the way they're playing only 35,000 show up and then they boo the team and leave at the half. Does that sound like fun to anyone? Not me.

As for "the game" I am ambivalent at best. They longer they persist with their scheduling policy the longer they look foolish to the rest of the world. If they should offer to schedule us I'd only agree if it was home and home, not a buy game. The truth is we can schedule money games against better opponents with higher pay outs. Them paying us to come to Fayettnam makes no sense to me.

True, but not to the extent it used to be. Lots of Red Wolves license plates around Little Rock and nearby areas.

More and more. Thus my initial statement to keep doing what they've been doing. Those roots are spreading.
