Win or lose, Troy plays how we USED TO PLAY: Not scared with a chip on their shoulder.

YOU-aye-Bay beats The Green Puddle...

NTSU up 17-0 over ArKANSAS..

Looks like C-USA has passed us by too..Jeeezus!

We just have no enthusiasm...we play soft.....Ya gotta admit under Bowah we never played soft. Our "D" was famous, now it gives up big plays with regularity.

Oh yeah..it's the fan's fault! 04-cheers

ESPN just sealed Troys fate with the commentary that the head coach is now “officially a hot commodity”

Cue Troy fans about how, “coach wants to build something”, “loved it here”, so forth and so on...

We arnt that naïve We know good and well he will leave for a P5 program soon. He’s been with us almost 4 years and after a 10 and 11 win seasons I’m Surprised we still have him tbh.

Either way if we lose him this year we get a 3million dollar buy out. Then next man up.

We could use the money and build an IPF but I would rather keep him around for one more year.

Looking forward playing USM next year. You guys will return a ton, so do we, our team is relatively young this year. Should be a good game next year!

Word of advice - don't hire and old, washed-up, SEC defensive coordinator.03-banghead

Don’t let admins get a guy “who will want to stay...one of us” type of thing. Get the next hot shot that knows all he has to do is keep the winning going 3-4 years and he gets his big shot. USMs biggest mistake is not accepting we are a stepping stone program....

RE: Troy Kicked Husker Nation's Arse
In the past fifteen years, many programs rose up and had great seasons, getting 12+ wins and looking like a power to be reckoned with. Schools that come to mind are Boise State, TCU, Houston, and UCF. While TCU has been fortunate to keep their coach, the others have not been able to. But what did they do? They hired a man in the same vein as their previous coach and kept the boat churning. They continued their success, becoming a hot destination for any player not picked up by a P5 school, and some even choosing them over P5 schools. Then there's Southern Miss. When we had our 12 win season, we had an opportunity to do exactly what the others had done. But instead of doing the obvious and hiring someone in the same vein as Fedora, we went in a polar opposite direction. After the travesty that was Johnson's one year, we hired Monken, someone much more in line with what Fedora was (and the man who should have been hired directly after Fedora). When Monken left us, what did we do? Polar opposite hire.

It's like we love shooting ourselves in the foot.

But look at what frequent corching changes have done to W. Kentucky, Arkansas, FL State, U Florida to name a few----when you start over and over and change philosophy after philosophy, it is tough to ever have continuity.

...and yeah, USM is probably a 10 outta 10 on the richter scale of corching damage to a program,so not a good example....but we go from a good/decent but not improving program under Bowah, to Sh!t under Pappy Buttermilk, to steady but exausting improvement under Monkee, back to a decent but not improving program under Hop!

Dam, with USM sucking along with all this stuff going on in Warshington DC, I have PTSD! 04-cheers

RE: Troy Kicked Husker Nation's Arse
The USM brand is still strong. You guys still attract talented HS recruits and FSU wanted to play USM in that bowl game last year. All you guys need is a real good coaching staff.

Our goal is to copy the past glory days of USM and Marshall. With our brand new end zone facility and our solid coaching staff we are technically now on par with USM and Marshall but we still need to build more FBS history. More bowl games and upset wins are needed, and of course: Top 25 appearances. We also need an NFL legend like Favre or Moss. DeMarcus Ware is a good start but we need to produce an offensive legend. Building a brand takes time. I think we need at least another 3-5 years of continued success (or a real breakthrough year) until we can compare the Troy brand to USM/Marshall. Lot of respect for your program.

Coaching blunders will happen, but that's why I said you need to hire in the same vein as the previous successful coach, don't go polar opposite.

I agree with that !0000%.....

how you don't hire a coach with the same philosophy blows my mind.....

that's just damned retarded....

it really gets tiring thinking about it....
