Marcus Childers - I'm Trying...

Yea I'm not sure this game is a good example of why not to change your QB.

That CMU QB single-handedly got them back into the game in the 2nd half. If they start him the whole game we probably lose.

If he is the starter and NIU knows he is the starter, I think he gets contained. He benefited from the element of the unknown.

I enjoyed listening to coach Grohl on Saturday. He was knowlegable and brutally honest which I found refreshing.

Everyone has been screaming to run the ball, and we did. We pounded the rock 48 times for 220 yards. I’m not going to penalize the run game with the -40 yard high snap on the punt. Childers threw 3 TD passes to no INTs.
No INTs? Childers airmailed his receiver and was INT by the defender. That makes 4 INTs in three games, plus however many fumbles he has had.
You’re right. Forgot about that one. Didn’t show up in the box score since I think it got called back for a defensive penalty. Not sure if the penalty played into the INT.
Either way, I would be very happy with 3 TDs and 1 INT each game with running for 200+. And I think the passing game has a lot more opportunity to grow at this point than stagnate.
True, I forgot he got lucky with a defensive penalty away from the ball that negated it.
Rewatching the game the defensive holding penalty was actually on the CMU player who had the interception. Pass certainly didn’t look great, but the holding well may have thrown off the timing of the throw. Also Tears May have given up on the play a bit once he was held.

I disagree, that young man is talented and will win a ton of games for CMU. The difference between he and Childers is night and day.

How can you rewatch any sporting event? You know the outcome. Too many great shows to watch. I couldn't give up 2 hours of my life knowing I still have several episodes of ozark to watch ?

Absolutely. He found his receiver, got rid of the ball quickly, and connected with the receiver - all of which Childers does not do. It gets tiring seeing Childers hold on to the ball, search for receivers in vain, and eventually throw the ball away (if he doesn't get sacked).

I would hate to be a wideout in this offense. 10 completions spread around to like 8 guys. How will they ever get big numbers and get noticed. .

I usually don’t rewatch but signed up for ESPN+ free trial and was curious if I could rewatch which you can. I was at the game and usually don’t remember all the details or get to see replays. So sometimes it is interesting to see it from a different perspective. And I really don’t get into TV shows.

It is fun to rewatch a game you went to to see what you missed. Particularly if it’s a knowledgeable color guy like Al Groh.

I also re-watch to see what the announcers said and to see some plays again - since for the home games I'm generally at the game.

We don't know because we haven't seen them in game situations. Put them in and we (and Carey) will know for sure.

For me, I've seen enough practice to be sure he has the best arm although the new freshman from Indy also has some zip. What I hope is that Childers gets better with decision making. He is a sophomore so there is time.
We got the win. I'll take it. After 4 CMU losses this is much better.
