15 penalties for 143 yards for USA.
6 for 50 yards for TxSt.

Giving away almost a football field in free yardage is frustrating.
The refs were making everything less fun with their "Lost in the Woods" act.
I long for the day when we are the more disciplined team.

Good game TxSt. It always feels like a knife fight in a dark alley.

I can't believe the absolute balls to do that. Just like, "F*** it!" go for it anyway! Even crazier that it worked.

In that situation, it was actually the easy call. I was at the game and said to my buddy before the play that you guys were about to throw a jump ball to #3.

It was 4th and goal from the 18 with 0:33 left. A 35 yard FG attempt wouldn't have really made a difference. You could have run the ball but its unlikely that you were going to get 18 yards. That would have left us with less than 30 seconds to go ~90 yards and no timeouts. An incompletion on the jumpball basically would have left us in the same situation. The completion ended the game.

Time for Withers to go...

Larry Fedora may be available pretty soon. He's a Texas guy... and he turned Southern Miss into a monster.

I still think Withers won't lose his job this year. I would be shocked to see a contract buyout with more than one year remaining. The school has no backbone and would rather shed fans.

Agree, Fedora would be a good fit at Texas State and he would turn that program around fast. Spent some time close to San Marcos and went to some games there at TXST. Love their campus & facilities (TSU and Troy have the nicest campus and facilities of any SBC school I've visited). Their stadium is especially nice. They just need a decent team to call it home. JMO.
