Marin Mazzie....
Passed away yesterday at 57. She was a WMU 1982 graduate, and an actress and singer. R.I.P.

RE: Marin Mazzie....
Marin was a friend of my wife's. They were in Gold Company-took classes together.

They kept in touch even after Marin hit the Great White Way. My wife is sick over her passing.

Marin had a great voice, was a talented actress and dancer, a passionate advocate for causes she believed in, and never let her success go to her head.

Outstanding alumna of WMU, gone way too young.

People are posting her favorite, the Sunflower (a la WMU's Brown-Eyed Susans), on Facebook in her honor.

Wow, she wasn't that old. She did a lot of Broadway and off Broadway stuff.

boston - thank you for posting those two clips.

It is immeasurable how much it means to my wife-Marin's friend since 1978.

Thanks, Philly. Wonderful reminders for my wife of what her great friend accomplished in a too-short life.

RE: Marin Mazzie....
I don't know for sure but Marin might be included in tribute on Tony Awards Show on Sunday June 9.

In Marin's honor, the lights on all 41 Broadway theaters were dimmed for one minute on September 19, 2018.

Look for her husband, singer and actor Jason Danieley Sunday. He accepted a special Posthumous award in her honor couple days ago. Hopefully that will be included in the telecast.

They were a great couple. He continues to raise money to fight the cancer that took her far too soon (age 57).

My wife sang with her in Gold Company, had classes with her, and remained friends until Marin's untimely passing.

Besides being incredibly talented she was as beautiful a person inside as out.
