It seems like they still have a ways to go on fundraising to make it a reality. Opening a new stadium for the 2020 season seems ambitious.

They opened up the bid process, but they don't have the money in place. USA sounds like they are desperately trying to play keep-up with UAB and Troy.

So the race for the #3 spot in Alabama's football stadium hierarchy is still on. All 3 top candidates have old (obsolete?) "historic" stadiums to deal with as they try to become modern programs in a cash-strapped state. Of those 3, Troy has the only OCS which was renovated thanks to millions donated by Richard Scruchy and named for him until he fell from grace. UAB and USA are working toward new smaller facilities for the next decade.
