Roy Williams, Lil Ole Bill Self and others can't offer is NBA Exprience..As a Player, A Coach, Playing against Jordan, Pippen, With Shaq, Or Playing with LeBron James and Going to NBA All Star games, To train in the NBA, What Travel is actually like to Exprience and what to expect...That they don't need the Money and All of them are Worth More than All the Revenue any of the Blue Bloods could bring in...That they are also going to run a NBA System and run like like a Pro team and get after it..They know what it takes in Workouts and what It takes to not only get drafted but to succeed in doing so...Penny and his NBA Staff can easily say to kids Has Coach K or Cal Or Roy Williams ever been on the road as a pro player, Ever been in the NBA, Or so forth..So that goes both ways guys...Again it just for discussion...

That's pretty arrogant considering he's never coached in college and how far superior all the programs you mentioned are over Memphis. If I were a mod I'd close this thread in a heartbeat and move it over to the AAC board where it might be relevant.

My for crying out loud it just a discussion piece...Why does it bother you so much it's not like VT does anything in Basketball or is a Basketball school..So why are you bothered just a question?...Second it' s not being Arrogant when it's a Fact that Penny is Locked for Wiseman, Watford, Jefferies, Dandridge, Jalen Green, R J Hampton, even Zion Harmon in Kentucky is looking hard at Penny and the Memphis staff...He has a NBA staff, Won everywhere he's been, has a High BB IQ, and has a NBA coach of the year who is Known as a damn good coach in Sam Mitchell, He has Larry Brown as his consultant and Tony Madlock is no rookie either....They Have NIke Behind them like no other program outside of Oregon...He will win and win big, and on a talent level of now going forward recruiting wise those lil blue blood programs you just said won't have the same talent level on the court as Memphis and that is another BIG Difference, and why i said what will they do to keep up from the talent gap as Penny continues to get the Best of the Best in talent from a recruiting standpoint?... And that is a very very fair question and not a knock on any one and is for good discussion...Even if you don't like that He is recruiting the best of the Best and winning every battle he really wants right now but it is a fact...And if you have Superior talent compared to others more times than not you are gonna win and win big just how the system works..YOu even know that...

They have Malcolm Dandridge committed And Everyone knows Wiseman is a Memphis Lock, but some delusional hang on UK's who aren't in reality it seems...Same goes for D J Jefferies de committing from UK because he is Going to Memphis...Same for Watford, everyone knows he is a Memphis Lock as well as Jalen Green and R J Hampton...So You guys really aren't up on Recruiting then?....Well Penny is landing the top talent, leading for the number 1 class in 2019 and 2020 as well...But the bigger question for discussion is what will schools such as UNC, DUKE, Syracuse, Louisville, UK, KU, Georgia do to keep up with the Talent gap that is beginning with Penny and his staff recruiting already Immpacting College by storm?..let's try to discuss how those schools would handle the difference in talant level that is beginning to be created with his recruiting classes and how they would try to keep up as well as him runnning a true NBA system at the College Basketball level...

And by that meaning how would Coach K, Roy Williams LIl Ole Bill Self who never coached Pro Ball and just couldn't because its a different game for them handle Penny and his Staff NBA System?...Or Coach Cal couldn't handle it for the Few Months he got Embarrssed at NEW Jersy before being fired in public and made fun of for how bad he was in the NBA?...Thoughts and Let's diccuss..

But if Penny can't coach it won't matter how well he recruits nor will his NBA cred carry much weight when the one and done is gone & the NBA has scouted these kids thru their sponsered camps,leafues, tournaments etc. Kids will then look to the best coaches & highest profile programs they can get into to better their skills & possibly develop into pro players

You still have to play by college rules correct? Even if Penny gets elite talent, you still only have 13 schloarships plus the college game has no rules on how you play zones like the NBA. Williams record speaks for itself with 4 elite 8,2 final fours ,2 championship game apperances & 1 national title over the last 8 years without top caliber NBA level talent

But the College shot clock has been shortened and College as Jay Wright and Villanova have proved with his 2 titles in 4 years that spacing the floor like NBA does and the 3 and extra passes and swing it around and pick and pops without near the talent Penny and his NBA staff are getting and gonna get speaks volumes of how College is already trying to change more into a pro game...Penny and his NBA Staff and Elite Talent that they are collecting in recruiting is gonna help him and his All star staff take College more into a Pro style and onto another level, that i just don't think Coach Cal, Coach K, Roy Williams, Old Guy Jim Boeheim, Bill Self, Chris Mack or others will be able to keep up with..Especially with the Elite talent the Penny and his staff are getting...But your right on what Roy Boy has achieved so far, same goes for Coach K..Just not so sure they will be able to keep up with Penny, His NBA Staff and Memphis and NIke 1 cent brand with a bigger talent gap that is being created and will continue to grow bigger year by year as he gets the best of the best talent wise...Will love to see a matchup with Duke, UNC and see if they go to Slow ball Mode to try and slow Penny and his NBA Style down and how it would try and work against his pro system?...It will be fun watching future tournaments and the outcomes of the soon to be epic battles...
