LD replacement
Any thoughts on Larry's replacement. I would like to see a recruiter with some credentials, even if that means waiting a year. A couple names off the top of my head:

1) David Padgett
2) Nick Van Exel
3)Terry Nelson
4) Dana Stubblefield
5) Reece Gaines

RE: LD replacement
I was thinking about Stubbs, but the price might be too high. I think he's making in excess of $500K out there in Eugene.

RE: LD replacement
Stubblefield would be the grand slam but I don't think there a chance he leaves Oregon to come back here. Not for what he's getting paid out there.

RE: LD replacement
Rick Pitino? Non-story. He and Mick are friends and Mick picks his basketball mind now and then. He knows Rick misses being around basketball. I don't feel sorry for the guy but I don't worry about him either.

03-lmfao

Theoretically, he ticks a few boxes... and with all the national scandals in the U.S. lately, Pitino doesn't look so bad.
  • Outstanding recruiter
  • Media savvy ("Slick Rick," anyone?)
  • Has sent many players to the NBA

Before anyone takes this post too seriously, keep in mind that I've had a good chuckle typing this up. Pitino isn't coming here to coach, he's just chilling with an old friend.

Maybe we should reserve a seat for Pitino right next to Oscar.

I would consider hiring zombie Hitler if he had access to 5 star ballers who knock down three pointers. No reason not to consider Slick Rick, if for anything else to piss of UL fans.

No way in hell is Van Exel leaving being an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies to be an assistant coach at UC. Probably 1/3 the pay and he would have to fly coach to watch high school kids play basketball in Ocala, Florida instead of eating at steak houses next to Madison Square Garden.

RE: LD replacement
Give me a young coach with deep AAU connections or a former Bearcat player with NBA experience...both are desperately missing from our staff.

Bring in Corie Blount. He has been rehabilitated from legal issues, he earned his degree and has helped some of the UC big men in the past. He may still lived in the area. Good fit.COGS
