RE: Larry Davis Retires
Well, I was hoping to bring in some young blood on our coaching staff, but Larry Davis was the last person I wanted to see leave the program. This is a bummer, but I wish the best for him in retirement.

I definitely agree about new blood on the staff and also agree that Larry is the most valuable and important guy on the coaching staff.

Yes, that includes MC.

I know Davis's record at Furman was not great, but UC's 2014-15 team played better for Davis than for Mick. Maybe Davis is one of those guys who's a great coach, but can't recruit.

He was the best recruiter on the staff. The last couple years he did most of the heavy lifting.

Well this f'n sucks. Great for him. Sucks for us. I love Larry and what he brought to Cronin's coaching table. So who gets to sit next to Mick on the bench to take the brunt of the spittle filled screams?

I liked LD, is he going to coach this year still? Next up, how about Greg Anthony? Bring in Cole Anthony with him. Maybe James Wiseman's dad?

Larry contributed greatly to this program, both on the recruiting trail and during games. He was excellent while filling in for Mick as head coach.

No. LD's done as of now.

He was the primary recruiter on Gary Clark.

My impression was that Mick and Larry were very close. If that was the case, Mick certainly knew this was coming and already has a successor selected.

Unless something unexpected came up and Larry didn't know it was coming.

They've got to get this right and I'm not sure timing wise if that affects the availability of potential coaches. If the right guy isn't available they may have to let the year play out.

It wasn't expected. All signs point to an in house interim in place for this year, and a full time replacement in the spring...

Recruiting to Furman isn’t exactly the same as recruiting to UC.
