He was the primary recruiter on Gary Clark.

And Jacob Evans, Troy Caupain, Kyle Washington and so on...

Recruiting to Furman isn’t exactly the same as recruiting to UC.

Stop while you're behind...

And recruiting for MC isn't exactly the same as recruiting for BH or RP.

So it's not health related? And this wasn't expected?

Something doesn't smell right...

I give him credit. He unclogged the offense that really wasn't going anywhere when he took over in Mick's sabbatical season.

bulldog said we get the hs coach from princeton on our staff. i believe it was seconded by one of the more esteemed members of our hallowed board. i think it was marcus. he of phillip fulmer fame

well now i'm bummed cuz y'all are. i probably didn't appreciate him as much as i should. it always seemed odd to me him being mick's right hand man, larry being like an older brother or younger uncle to mick. maybe larry was more of a mentor. in that, he was probably cherished. i couldn't see the two having a falling out

any you know me, i'm all about plucking from the junior ranks. get you a division two two time runner up coach. he hungry

Big loss and hope all is right with Coach Davis. Best of luck coach and thanks for all you did. The next guy has some monster shoes to fill.

Being a college basketball coach is so demanding... dude has been doing it for almost 40 years. I hope his health is good and wish him luck in retirement. He has done a lot for our program the last 12 years.

Maybe he's retiring to become a nanny.

Unless something unexpected came up and Larry didn't know it was coming.

They've got to get this right and I'm not sure timing wise if that affects the availability of potential coaches. If the right guy isn't available they may have to let the year play out.

It wasn't expected. All signs point to an in house interim in place for this year, and a full time replacement in the spring...

I would think if Larry was retiring on his own timeline he'd have wanted a bball game where he could've been honored and let the fans say goodbye. I hope it doesn't mean Larry or someone close to him is in poor health.

Great coach and I am assuming really helped Mick. The year Mick was sick he was phenomenal.
