That is why the industry is dying. They don't trust the readers to be intelligent enough to take information and formulate our own conclusions. Therefore, they slant every story to suit them.

Doesn't seem like there isn't just one reason the industry is dying. Just too many factors and poor strategies (ie clickslides) and shifts in customer interest. Not for profit + all digital models, it seems, will give it at least temporary life support. Hopefully it is enougj to be self sustaining.
