ECU vs. Va. Tech
Haven't seen this discussion anywhere else, so starting this thread. ECU backed out of its game this weekend at Blacksburg. Their administration decided is was too risky to play there and then potentially not be able to return to Greenville. Plus the folks in Greenville are susceptible to flooding and are very sensitive to the damage past storms have done. ECU is drawing a lot of criticism from VT fans since reportedly they made the decision without much consultation with VT. ECU team is now headed to Orlando to spend the week there in preparation for their game at USF on 9-22 at 8 p.m. in Tampa.
So, not that it will make a lot of difference, but VT will have more time to prepare for ODU on 9-22 and they will be well rested. I also wonder if this will through off ECU enough to affect their game with us on 9-29.

Heard a big donor from Liberty is trying to get Liberty in Blacksburg Saturday since Norfolk St. can go to Lynchburg.

Sorry, VT does not need to prepare for ODU. This game will be over in the first 10 minutes (if ODU receives). Their scrubbs will be in by the end of the first quarter, unless they just want to have a scrimmage to knock some rust of their starters prior to the following weeks game. At one time was excited for this game, but now, just hoping not to be totally embarrassed on our home field.

Never thought an exciting expectation could turn into dread so easily. Really want next weekend over.

No. They get to market VT to sell season tickets and miniplans.

One game played in front of stands full of the opponent's fans is definitely not worth the other 5 games played in front of stands that are 3/4 empty. Of course, I guess they get to say they upped their season ticket sales this year.

We get paid when we play there.
