Relying on a walk-on QB that should be a 4th stringer tends to do that. I want to be more upset than I am, but Nebraska's borderline FCS without Martinez in. This is a long-term rebuild.

2nd string, Patrick O'Brien: transferred to Colorado State
3rd string, Tristan Gebbia: transferred to Oregon State

The people that advocate free transfers of players should look at this as a cautionary tale. If your players lose a starting battle and get mad like Gebbia did, you could end up in Nebraska's shoes.
