People don’t need an excuse not to go to a football game. It’s a supply and demand thing. If 60K people decide they enjoy Memphis football so much that they will attend on Friday no matter what, then the LB will sell out. As it is, we all know there are likely 30K or so who will attend. If that makes you upset, then be upset. Or become an Alabama fan. Then you won’t have to worry about being mad about lack of turnout.

Just remember the Mike Shula years...plenty of empty seats.

Or the last years of Fulmer at UT, lots of empty seats at that game we should have won with Avery at QB. I've never felt a 100,000 seat stadium feel so empty.

......or the Dooley years, or the last 2 Butch years. Problem is, a 2/3 full or even 1/2 full Neyland is still 50,000-75,000.

How much $$$ does Memphis get from TV for playing on Friday night? Is this just part of the overall AAC deal and Memphis doesnt get any extra $$$ for this particular game? Of course, the increased exposure has a value which is hard to quantify, but we definitely lose a bit on ticket sales. Just wondering, if he choice was solely ours, would we choose to play on Friday night or play on Sat with decreased TV coverage?

I don’t think we lose that much in ticket sales. We do lose on actual attendance though.
