RE: Bearcat Fans- America's Happiest
I have to question their method for getting to this conclusion, but always happy to see us #1. The Nevada fiasco has made me overall pretty numb (not mad or happy) towards basketball, just can't put too much emotion into it like used to, for my own personal sanity. But am starting to grow on what Fick has going on.

The thing that saved us from being totally bummed after the NV coaching debacle is that our rival Eggsaver also **** the bed. This meant we heard nothing from them.

No doubt at all... the saving grace. Especially considering... where all those cheers came from as Nevada came back... sure as f**k weren't Nevada fans.

RE: Bearcat Fans- America's Happiest
Sports fans are a strange ilk indeed. We love, we b_itch, we love, we b_itch, we love, we b_itch, we....ok, ok, you get it. Annnd.....I'm good with that. If you invest your time, energy and money into our Cats then you're entitled to let out your feelings. Think how boring it would be around here if everyone was happy or pissed off all at the same time. Like a big extended family, Bearcat Banter posters run the gamut of those who lean grumpy to those who lean positive and all points in between. For example, Ragpicker is grumpy most times and BearcatMark is positive most times. I think Billy Bearcat is attitude questioning - he can't quite commit to be negative or positive. And some of you need to be on meds or increase your dosage. Sweet Lord we're a hoot! 03-lmfao

I like our defense and it makes me happy. They were hopeless last year and this year... what a turnaround! I could watch TubaCat’s gif all day long.

I think you're correct. Particularly impressive to actively trail the play after a hit like that.

Bearcat Fans- America's Happiest
Overall, I am quite pleased with the overall trajectory of the AD. Basketball has the resources to compete, as does football. Two new facilities totaling near $160 million in renovations over the last 6 years. Baseball, volleyball, track and field, and swimming are moving forward, and women's basketball has some positive momentum with a coaching change. All on the up and up from an academic standpoint.

I'm sure I'm missing something. But a healthy AD and fanbase that should be an attractive candidate if the P5 looks to include someone from outside the party. If we can get to Top 25 in basketball and football consistently and maybe start making noise in baseball, we'll essentially be in the same position as L'Ville before they departed, sans a scandal.

C'mon UCGrad1992, they told you to evacuate the state. Why not actually come to a game in good old Nippert and enjoy your Big D$ck Fick football. OH NO - you would prefer to pontificate from the couch.

That's exactly what they thought 3 years ago.

Please let me know next time you are at a game and we will share a beer like the good old days of Big East football. Not sure I've seen you since the AAC became our purgatory.

I go into the world's happiest thread and feel like s**t after reading it.

The average poster's expectation on here is a New Years Day Bowl Win and an NCAA Championship. No one here is ever happy. That's why it's kind of funny when I saw this on Twitter yesterday.

I don't necessarily think that's true.

Some us on here (me... in particular) try to point out the positives of our programs and that our coaches are not total idiots. Yes, those on here who are like the two old guys from the balcony on the muppet show always show up to tell us how stupid we are, but so what.

If you were a UC fan watching us take brutal beatings at the hands of the Bowling Green's of the world in a crumbling Nippert and then went to watch a 3-28 basketball team in the musty old Cincinnati gardens with the humiliation of playing on Xavier's court... you're quite happy with the state of UC athletics at the moment.

Oh please. I lived those years as a undergrad, that doe s not mean I should be fine with losing seasons or mediocrity. Your opinion holds no more weight then any of the people you seem to be calling out. I am very happy that Luke seems to have turned things around, not so much about Cronin. If you would like to discuss the over 2 million reasons I think Mick is an under achieving blow hard, lets do that. 1986 is not relevant to where we are now. Might as well bring up 1906.

1906 was a really bad year as The Cats went 0-7-2

That's so true. Their first ever #1 seed and their players, armed with their Big East jersey patches, had their deluded fans believing they were anointed for their destiny: a run to the national championship... or at least their first Final Four. Then they lose the first weekend. And lose their coach to a more successful program. Not a great year to be an X fan.

It's a great year to be a Bearcat football fan. Rain or shine, Nippert will rock this Saturday night.

I actually may be coming back to town next week, to pick up some of my late father's old stuff. I might work in the Ohio game, but a lot of other stuff to do.

Last time I came into town and saw a game, it was the Miami Hurricanes game. More to do with having a lot of personal matters to attend to, and maybe the bozo former coach running UCFB into the ground pulled it down my list of priorites, than the league itself.

I appreciate your honest posts, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to tweak you a bit over them, now and again :)

Hey, I came to the Toledo game at PBS a few years back and spent my hard earned money supporting the local economy while staying with my family at a downtown hotel for 2 nights. Went up to campus and spent some dollars there too. A few years before that I attended the road game at NCSU (within 90 minutes drive). So yeah, I'm due to make the trip to the Nip. The last time I saw a game there was in in 1986 against the Miami Hurricanes and Vinny T. I'm actually eyeing that road game to Marshall next year or the East Carolina road game that makes sense travel-wise for me.

OOOOOOH. Good comeback. Why don't you just stick to "you are, but what am I" next time.

Being that the basketball team hasn't had a losing season since the Bush administration, I could only gather from what YOU wrote that you were referring to the basketball team as mediocre.

And since I don't know a thing about the English language, I'll remind you that I made it though the same school that you did, genius.
