RE: Flagship
Does Houston have dorms yet for their students? And this is coming from a "commuter-school" alum which DOES have dorms.

Navy has been alone in first or tied for first in the AAC West in 34 of those 41 weeks.
Anyone else have a better claim?
Navy is an also-ran.

5 in use rn with a 6th on the way. Plus numerous student apartments within a mile or so from campus.

Yeah, it’s about the conference championship trophy’s period. Navy with a whole lot o’ nada. UCF will throw in two NY-6 Bowl victories. :stirthepot:UCF is the ship! Oh, did I forget to mention the Natty?

RE: Flagship
Arguing over who the flagship is, in a conference that's only 5 years old is kind of silly. Why don't we revisit this in another 5, 10, or 15 years. If the conference is even still around by that point, that is.

Why don't we just stop claiming that anyone is the "Flagship". We've got a fairly good conference... and a bunch of fans that are arguing about who is the biggest kid at the kid's table.

The only thing that matters is who's gonna win the conference this year. I could care less about past seasons. 2015 was a great year for UH, but I stopped celebrating the achievements of that season the minute the 2016 season began. These conversations are better for the off-season anyway, we've got actual football to talk about.

Since you gave me a negative rating, I hope UH has 15 years to figure stuff out in the AAC.

Houston has 44,000 students, about 8,000 live on campus. More if you count surroundings apartments etc.

yet? houston has always had dorms.. we've always been heavily dormed since inception
as of today houston (with all the new dorms) has 8k beds, second most dormed university in texas (# will increase, an old dorm with 500 beds was demolished 2 months ago to make one with 1200 beds, and a secondary project is being done to make super expensive town house style dorm with 120 beds)
and in the last 6 years atleast 7 luxury apartments have been made literally all next to UH (gateway, the vue, apex etc) if i had to guess totaled an additional 8k beds

Umm, Houston has many more students (both in total and in %) living on campus than does Wichita St.

These stats don't tell the tale. Tulane is not a commuter school, but it also doesn't have a ton of student housing because of a small footprint in a jam-packed city. Students living in off campus private apartments aren't "commuters."

Many moons ago (mid 80s) I was at a national fraternity conference and chatted with some UH Cougars that they told me they didn't have dorms . . .
