RE: Offensive Offense Rankings
The coaches did do a nice job setting up the stop and go to DJ that should have given us 6. They also set up the Childers' long run that set up the FG. But that was it for the entire game. They could set up a TE slip screen on max protection that would break wide open. They could set up a playaction after a couple bruising runs by Harbison but we don't do playaction this year even though we ran some last year. One of my biggest peeves were that we didn't run enough playaction and now we don't run it at all. Mind boggling. A pump and go would also bust open since we throw so many passes to the flat. Has Childers pump faked once so far? Absolutely not. He's easy pickings. The coaches need to step up. They really suck. The last two games were a chance for them to be creative and assertive but they look like idiots, morons, and wussies...

I will tell you a play that probably would havee worked in rz at end, was at least worth a try.
Every time Childers clapped his hands, he and team looked to sidelines. On top of that, so did entire Utah team other than d- line already down. You could have him clap and do a slient snap direct to RB who would be looking. They could easily have run outside since most of time they had 1/1, no real help. Maybe option on that side. You could have set it up with lineman not getting up, or at least center a couple times, or center getting up from position slow, second or 2 late. I Have no doubt there was a much higher than 50% chance it works. Better than lining up 3 on weak side, looking to see if they are in man and then still throwing that way when 4 guys are camped out on Utah.
Any freaking thing would have been worth it to try.

Don't forget, in his press conference Carey said NIU moved the ball well.

Frustrating part was after the INT NIU gets the ball back and on the first play NO ONE was on Wesley or within 10 yards of him and he is waving to hurry up and snap the ball and throw it to him but we screwed around looking to the sideline that Utah was able to call time out. Wesley would have scored untouched because the Utah players couldn't decide who should have been in the game. I was so f.. mad.

Yea I guess we were all watching a different game. There were a few good plays, and it was better than the Iowa game. But there was nowhere to go but up after that.
