If you want a fun tropical weather site try spaghettimodels.com aka Mike's weather page. In the upper left corner there are links to graphic depictions of the latest euro, American and Canadian models and tons of graphs and info from most public sources.

VB & Ches (all HR?) schools closed until further notice. Staff reports in VB, unless you're evacing then call your supervisor.

Schools are a lot more cautious than they used to be, which is almost certainly a good thing. I was in sixth grade when Hurricane Gloria made its approach and even though Norfolk was for some time in the middle of the cone, we only got out of school for the day that it was expected to make landfall.

Given the logistics of moving people and establishing shelters, shutting down three days out is the right call. For scheduling purposes, just hope this isn't a snowy winter.

Nearly got into it with some dizzy chick at the wawa after I got gas for the generator. At the time I was humoring the SO, but now I'm glad I did.

I'm in Zone A so I'm headed north. Stay safe everyone! The projections are looking worse as the days go by.

Zone A, Colonial Place. Going to wait until this evening to make a call. But if we do, it will just be to Great Bridge, where my parents are in Zone C.

I'm in Zone A, so I'll be heading to the 'burbs as well. I live off of shore drive, and the water level is already high. On the bay side, water looks to be up to the dunes in some places. Water was over the docks at back deck. The outdoor area at Bubba's was underwater. This one is going to be a doozy.

Im zone D so waiting it out. We all bicker at times, but be cautious and stay safe. Got 10 gallons of gas, generator, beer, water, wine, and snacks. Been thru this a few times.

Wasn't aware, thanks. That's good. I was talking about that. Our water in Etheridge comes from the dismal right? That could take a beating and they turn off the pumps for safety. But as long as I've been in Chesapeake I've never had the water actually turn off.

No we get our water from the Northwest River and groundwater from four wells located along Battlefield Blvd near St. Brides Rd. You probably wouldn't notice your water was off last night unless you flushed a toilet or we're showering at the time. Possibly could have had air in the line this morning but it was back up after 30 minutes.
