DC has to find a way to get pressure and/or take away the slant throws. Offense needs to match the score.

Rice: 3 plays, 3 yards. At least we got a better punt this time.
4/5. Our first two runs of the game went for 4&5 yards. Since then we ran 4 for 5 total yards.

This is going to be a 'save the equipment' kind of night.

Speaking of which, our uniforms would look poor if this were spring practice, much less a real game. No stripes on the shirts or pants, and no gray. They're just terrible uniforms.

Covering short passes in the middle of the field is not yet part of the Rice D's repertoire. Hawaii's first play is just that ... again ... and gains 23 yards.

We have to sustain drives... this is a bad defense, but we simply have to move the ball on them.

An Owl rusher lines up a little bit off-sides ... and crosses the line before the snap to remove any doubt. But the penalty is declines, as the pass down the left-side hashmarks gains 15. Sigh.

Other than our one first down, there has been nothing impressive so far from a coaching and playing perspective.
