Back To the Future ...
We are now throwing behind the sticks on 3rd down - and really haven't done that for the last 4 seasons. The lack of arm strength and zip really became apparent today at Navy.
We now struggle with greater than 3rd and 6. It is what it is. The last two guys have spoiled us.
Even with the 4 turnovers, it should have been a win.

Yep... Brady was a big disappointment. But it’s a long season and here’s hoping for a better day and a better Brady!

RE: Back To the Future ...
Folks, we saw an All-World Brady last week, albeit for a half against Sister Mary’s School for the Blind.
We saw him against a defense with a pulse this week, but he got his ankle rolled up on in practice this week. He’s missed the last two years because of what? A broken ankle that took that long to heal. With that in his head and the slippery conditions, he looked like crap.
I’m not ready to call him a bust, I think what we have for the real Brady is somewhere between the two extremes.
Let’s see how he bounces back before we throw him in the trash - I think that’s what I will do, but you do what you want to do.

RE: Back To the Future ...
It was his first FBS opponent to face in what, 2-3 years? And it was Navy, at Navy, in relentless pouring down rain. To top it off, he rolled his ankle in practice earlier in the week (a lineman fell on it in practice).
What rational person in their right mind would even think to call him a bust after one game at Navy under those conditions? Or even have any idea at this point what his 3rd down passing game will morph into as the season progresses, for that matter. That's ridiculous even by MTO standards.

A lot of the turnovers were from guys not being able to hold on to the ball. I kind of think this was a 1 off from the weather.

I agree, any QB who cannot pass for 400 yards in a driving rainstorm has to GO NOW!
Hopefully a replacement can be in place for Fridays game.

Dang I hadn’t heard about his passing.
Those were some great action movies!
Seriously, the day after the loss things look better to me. A disappointing loss which should have been a win. But it’s just one game.

No doubt we would a, could a, should a won that game. And there is no doubt that those of you who are most certainl of that "fact" would have won it if you were the head coach.

Methinks the driving rain storm had more to do with the lack of zip.
Credit to our D for keeping Navy in check. 1 turnover to Navy usually results in a loss. 4 turnovers vs Navy should result in a 2-3 touchdown loss. Just look at recent history. 2015 - 3 turnovers (Navy 45-20). 2016 1 turnover (Navy 42-28).

RE: Back To the Future ...
I am in agreement with all Y'all. I was not, nor did I mention stats. What i was interested to see was the way the ball comes out of the kid's hand and whether or not it gets to its target. I DO HOPE it was a wet ball. I DO HOPE it was because he rolled his ankle. Hell. I DO HOPE it was a John McCain curse. Like I said ...
The last 2 guys have spoiled us.

RE: Back To the Future ...
Anyone remember how Paxton looked his first year as a starter?
Anyone remember how Riley looked the last 2 years in wet weather? He may have had more zip, but he missed receivers 10 yards.
I'm disappointed. We should-a. But it happens. I will have faith in Norvell with the qb situation until he proves to me that I shouldn't. We are not there yet.

269 passing yards, 5 Touchdowns.
Some folks just aren't cut out for data analysis to drive their decision process. It is what it is. Oops thread.

RE: Back To the Future ...
We are now handing off the ball to produce a prolific running game in Darrel Henderson we haven't witnessed in 13 seasons since DeAngelo Williams.
Touchdown after touchdown, It is what it is.
Back to the Past.
