RE: CAA Week 2 & other games of interest
The CAA is 10-8 out of conference with more FBS wins (2) than FCS losses (1). The Sagarin hasn't updated. The Massey ratings have the CAA with 3 of the Top 9, 7 of the Top 22, and William & Mary worst in 51st out of 125 in FCS. The CAA has the best average rank in FCS at 23 1/3rd. The MVFC has 5 of the Top 11, but it's bottom 2 bring its average to 24th. An FCS poll done by the Massey ratings would have a majority of the teams from the CAA or MVFC. The Top 13 are in the CAA, MVFC, or Big Sky. The Big Sky has an average rank of 31.5.

The schedule can only get marginally better as long as JMU is fcs.

ODU's Harry Minium has done more than his part to promote a Geo5 dialogue, he has been willing to come out and say CUSA is not right for ODU.

I hope Bourne is on the phone with App State egging App State to say the same about the Sunbelt out-loud, "we need a Geo5." Same with Ga Southern and any other G5 that has any persuasion with each other or G5 commissioners. We have at least one CUSA team screaming, a Sunbelt team is a necessary ally and App State is it...

We need an on-going Geo5 dialogue in the sports media or our schedule will be filled with 50-0 fcs mercy games until JMU eventually falls off the fcs hill we plant our flag on now.

Yea, how we don't at least play the chickens, tics, Wmgt, maybe the 'Novas/Tiggers every year is kinda baffling. Toss in a Maine, Stony brook, Elon, or Albany/UNH here and there and make this a rivalry league once again.

This hodgepodge of games against the NCCC or RM's of the world, errrrr, no thanks.

Find MUCH better OOC 1-AA teams to play, they're most definitely out there.

Hell, watching this, how about Samford?!?

Plus 1,000,000. This “win” is totally empty. Is it really a win? Players and coaches have got to say “WTF”. Then we have Robert Morris for season opener. Love the Dukes but geez.....

I've mentioned this before, but I see nothing wrong with playing Delaware as an OOC game the seasons we don't get them for our conference play. One would think if they'll sign a home-and-home with NDSU, then they'd do the same with us.

The CUSA and Sun Belt both stink. Marshall (CUSA) and App State (Sun belt) are really the only good football programs and their ceiling in the current system is pretty low.

No better example of the disparity in college football in FBS than Rutgers. Beat Texas State handily last week and got trounced by Ohio State yesterday. Rutgers is 75-100 in FBS and Texas State is probably dead last and worse than 50 or so FCS program.

If JMU had to play teams from CUSA and Sun Belt with a balance of their schedule it's not any better than the CAA slate.

Unfortunately we won't really know how good JMU is until maybe at Richmond or likely at Villanova. We may not truly know until week 2 or 3 of the playoffs. It is what it is but that's our current way of life. You just hope that the pollsters continue to rank JMU #2 for as long as we keep winning these games.

Who cares what the pollsters do. Those idiots had UNH ahead of Maine even after Maine whipped them. Only thing that matters is the playoff committee..Thank goodness they don't do the seeds by the polls. Otherwise Soft Houston would have been the #1 seed 2 years ago instead of the #5..
