I was close on the Kent score but had Howards score backwards. That was a pretty big defensive turnaround from last week.

Very nice game except for the penalties.

Seemed to go on forever.

Not too worried about the penalties. That crew ALWAYS throws a bunch, regardless.

I thought we were much more crisp in the second half. I see no reason why this can’t be a .500 team in the league, THIS YEAR.

Agreed. Ohio supposed to be one of Best in East, and they struggled to beat Howard.

Halftime was at 5:30pm. The officials did a terrible job managing the time of this game. I could've taken a nap.

As the usual, still seeing bad penalties and dropped passes. Nothing new.

Nice win Flashes!!! Outside of the penalties and some missed catches very solid performance!!! It's so nice to have offense like this after 5 years of 14 points per game! I thought the game would be much closer than what it was. I will also chime in my approval for switching sidelines back to the way they should be. From my recollections, first time since Cribbs was QB here. This staff seems to be getting it all right!! I'm just hoping we get through the next two weeks injury free (especially Barrett!!!).

Good to get a big win over Howard in the home opener. Its a shame it had to rain the entire game. That crew throws a lot of flags for sure and that game was a marathon, but a few personal foul penalties were unacceptable.

WR's had a tough game, a lot of drops and penalties. KSU has 3 good RB's, so they should be able to rotate through the season to keep fresh if necessary. Defense is senior heavy and playing like it. I sure hope the punter Adams can come back from his hip injury, as there is a large drop off to the guy that has been punting the last 2 weeks. I sure hope that Dixon can stay healthy for the rest of his football career and his life.

Next week @ Penn State should be a tough 1. Ole Miss beat Texas Tech week 1, Southern Illinois week 2, and has Alabama this week at home.

McKoy looks like a player. Don't remember the last time we had a freshman WR with that size that contributed right away. Nice debut by Shaw too. As long as we're running this up pace offense recruiting offensive players should be easier because there will be plenty of numbers to go around.

I believe those sideline changes were a MAC rule from the Marshall years ... I guess the MAC has given the green light for a return ... or forgot the rule ...

(Ahem) ... Eugene Baker ... the Touchdown Maker.

"MAC rule from the Marshall years" If this is true, can you elaborate because I don't remember any other MAC school having the away team on the Main Stands sideline. Atleast Akron, Ohio, BG, Miami, Buffalo, Ball State, and Temple never did that when I was going to games from 2004-2008. Not trying to start an argument, I've just always been curious why Kent State did what they did. It never made sense to me and personally, I never liked it.

I believe it was Doug Martin's idea when they built the student section stands. He wanted the team to feed off the students if I remember correctly.

The Miami-Marshall games had plenty of issues ... rule was put in then to keep teams away from student sidelines..
