Howard @ Kent State 9/8
Kickoff is 3:30. Video stream available on ESPN+.

Caylin Newton had a part in over 530 yards of offense in Howard's near-upset at Ohio last Saturday, burning the Bobcats with his arm and legs. Additionally, OU only sacked him once. Newton is vulnerable however, as he threw 2 INTs and completed just 50% of his passes.

Obviously containing and putting pressure on Newton is key. Howard also has size and speed at WR that make coverage a challenge. Howard is an FCS team that has shown it can hang with (and beat) FBS teams in recent seasons. We will have our hands full, but I think we win in a wild one, 45-31.

Agree with your assessment. Do not sleep on this team. We are in for a challenge.

Hopefully the rain stays away and the students show up. I have Kent winning in 52-41.

I might actually be undershooting the score with both teams being fast paced. I just hope they throw a few deep balls early and get the crowd into it early.

I think the only reason it won't be higher scoring is because both quarterbacks will throw some INTs. I'd set the O/U at 3.5.

Howard is going to be a formidable opponent for sure! Looks like the rain forecast keeps getting pushed back, so hopefully it won't interfere too much tommorow! Anyone else get the hype-recording from Coach Lewis today? He said it's going to be all Flash Fast tomorrow!!!!! COGS

Its going to rain all day unfortunately. Right now it is a light rain so hopefully it stays light throughout the game.

RE: Howard @ Kent State 9/8
OH MY! They finally swapped the benches/sidelines. I always found it weird that Kent's bench was in front of the student section instead of the main stands. Seemed backwards from every team I have ever seen.. high school/college/NFL. This is the first time I've seen this at kent since atleast 2004. It's about time!

This is fun. Offense, defense, special teams--16-0 after 1.

(And thank you ESPN+.)

Parker needs to be smarter than that. Don't pick if off on 4th down with no one around you. That gave them 20+ yards.

Haven't seen Dixon. Anyone know if he's active? Also anyone heard anything on Adam's status? The back up punter is killing us.

Last time KSU up 26 points in a half anyone?

Edit: Not that long ago 2015 against Delaware St. 36-6

47-14 Flashes. 2 minutes left in 3rd quarter.

Most points scored in a Haynes era game was 45.

RE: Howard @ Kent State 9/8
54-14 Tied for most points in game since a 2008 win over Miami. Still 10 minutes left.

We will see if they catch their most points since a 69-17 win over EMU in 2004.

RE: Howard @ Kent State 9/8
I feel bad for Howard now. I don't think Coach Lewis is going to let up with the offense needing the experience.
