Collin Lisa catches the ball like Spider-Man. He looks as though his date for the past 200 nights was a JUGS machine. He is straight out of the Patriots receiver mold; Go 8 yards, get open, catch ball, leave DB frustrated. If he can put on a few pounds and keep his agility, he is going to have a long career.

How many times was he thrown to Saturday? How many catches?

Not near as much but Elderly's passes were quite off last weekend.
That combined with our inability to keep them off the field cut down on the number of opportunities to pass to him.

If one receiver is double covered, another must be open or single covered. Why were we shut down so completely?
I know UAB is still in a team building phase as we make progress in our Return so I am not yet badly discouraged by this early season loss. We still have 10 games left to play and two signing dates before spring.

We made poor throws on good decisions, or bad throws on ok decisions. The check downs on the coverage didn't happen as good as they could have and we tried to impose our will on a team that was prepared for it.
It looked to me like something was bothering Erdely. He wasn't as sharp as his usual self.

Not even a starter, but good player. Not top WR on the team in terms of talent.

Lol their qb didn’t have any problems throwing the ball. I just think AJ had an off game and he’ll get his rhythm back this game against Tulane. He’ll have to for us to have a chance.

I haven't seen Lisa do anything close to what I saw Parham do. Just saying. Maybe we should start arguing about real potential breakout stars.
And I can see Erdely starting all season. Or him hitting the bench. I like him, but I think we have seen him hit his ceiling. The only question is, do we have someone with a higher ceiling on the bench. One way or another, this offense needs to open up. Do what you have to do to make it happen. More love for the TEs and less of the QB jawing with the other team. Everyone should stop talking to the other team.

Lisa is one helluva good possession receiver and security blanket for Erdley. He's not the kind of WR that you're scared will break a game wide open.

If this game wasn't his, and everyone else's ceiling, then our expectations are unrealistic.

Lol
Didn't break 200 yard mark,
Erdely probably has only thrown over 300 yards once in his UAB career. Lol

I want the 2014 QBs back. And that offense. It seems to still be missing in action.
This next game should be the lineup game. I have zero fear of our backups getting the call up. I haven't done any analysis, but has the pass blocking improved? If not, maybe we can have a pass blocking line and make changes at odd times to confuse the defense. On D, I saw a guy who appeared to be spying the QB and fail miserably. Do we sub 1A for 1B to put more speed on the field? I expect we will see some changes soon. May depend on how the game goes.
