Thank you! Let's go back to what made us. Easier schedule and a chance at dozen wins.

Depressing waste of a season.

I don't mind the tougher schedule, particularly if we're good enough to make a decent game of it. Iowa had 4 linemen out and were starting a bunch of new guys at LB. Should have been able to do more in the passing game, at least. And their QB only completed 55% of his passes last year. Was not a game we should have been blown out.

What scared the most last Saturday was the off tackle plays, we are not used to seeing that here recently. Was it just being wore down by being on the field (I think it was), or is there a vulnerability introduced by a weaker LB core.

Utah thinks it's a scrimmage and maybe they're looking ahead to Washington at home next Saturday night on ESPN.

RE: Utah Predictions
For whats its worth Massey pretty much nailed NIU and Iowa with a 23 point differential projected. That was 2 TDs different than the actual line which is unheard of comparing the two. NIU was overinflated going into that Iowa game, and they are again this week, but not to the extent they were at Iowa. This week Massey has it as a 13 point differential for the Utes. Smart money is on Utah again.

Perfect trap game setup for Utah. I feel a Huskie victory coming if Childers can make a few passes under the lights at Huskie Stadium on a fall evening with temps in the 60s ...

Everyone is way too frazzled from the Iowa game. So fragile is your confidence.... Huskie win this one 21-17 and all of a sudden we start talking major bowl opportunities. Let’s go, fire it up and let’s will the team to victory. They need the fan base more than ever and we are all still sulking feeling completely beat. Glad the players are playing the game and not the fan base.

+20,000 I hope.

Yep. And after that stirring win you envision, people will be lined up on here screaming for Carey's contract extension, right??

Really hoping I’m wrong but this offense gives me zero confidence. O-line and defense need consistency to stay fresh. Not like NIU can overwhelm P5 with its depth.

Need to force some early turnovers and capitalize!

Hopefully evil Hot Rod stays away from now on.

Just a reminder to everyone, absorb and savor the experience tomorrow leading up to the game. I am trying to remind myself of this also. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the environment like NIU was one of the best G5s in the land. Not many home games to enjoy and even with the tougher situation this year, this is something to soak in and savor , especially given limited opportunities to see the Huskies this year. Be as loud as you can in the beginning of the game, make the Utes feel the home field advantage, even if its temporary! Enjoy everyone. Go Huskies

Utah will hang 50 on us, expect our offense and special teams are good for at least 17 of the 50.

RE: Utah Predictions
I predict a good time. That's the best part of having high expectations. We've been spoiled with an overachieving team over the last decade and its great to have optimism for any game unlike many MAC schools. I've had amazing tailgates over the years with family and friends thanks to these great huskies.

So put on your battle gear players and fans, its game day. Time to protect our turf, tradition, our pride.

Stay golden Ponyboy and may God bless the huskies today.

RE: Utah Predictions
Utah 5, NIU 2 lol. I'll be interested to see if NIU can move the ball and score on the Utah defense. I'm not saying they won't move the ball, I'm saying can they also capitalize. Bend but don't break, stop the run, make the QB make mistakes in the throw game has been Kyle Whittingham's bread and butter for 30 years.

I'm excited to watch Sutton Smith play. A guy to watch out for on Utah's defense is the strong safety Marquise Blair. He'll usually decleat a couple guys during a game and gets a helmet to helmet every 3-4 games. I'm not condoning it, but it happens.

Good luck to you guys, thanks for allowing me to post.
