RE: Week 2 Polls
Some of these polls that have drastic movement are not weighted correctly toward strength of opponent.

Air Force move up 30 spots for beating stony brook, higher than FAU in the Bill Connely and UNT rise for beating horrible SMU. Yeah they have good stats but they played Stony Brook and SMU.

Where as FAU drops 47 for actually playing a good team, dont buy those polls for a second

True, but we want our teams moving up in these polls nevertheless. Not at the bottom.

Sagarin is garbage. Why anyone relies on that is beyond me to comprehend.

Confirmation Bias. Nobody wants to be "worse" than another team, so they use whatever metric fits their team the best.

True, nobody wants an FCS to be rated higher. There were what 10 FCS upsets this past weekend, some blow outs in our own conference.

The Sagarin predictor was .5342 ats no other poll mentioned comes close to that.

I believe Western Kentucky was ranked and maybe Marshall in 2014 before they lost to WKU.

Marshall has probably the best shot playing South Carolina and NC State both winnable games IMO.

FAU maybe if they beat UCF and run the table, but the OU blowout really hurt their chances

If UNT beats Arkansas and runs the table, maybe at the end of the year. If they don't beat Arkansas no chance, because their schedule is so weak

I think UNT will get in the top 25 with a 6-0 record.

There have been 5 FCS over FBS upsets this year.

70% of Voters believe App State is too low. That is the highest percentage of "Too Low" votes for any of the 129 teams.

Hey princess. I was saying that Sagarin is garbage for much of the last 10 years when MT was much higher than North Texas. You can check my posts on that. So, whatever you think. Congrats for being wrong.

Possibly if they go into Fayetteville and beat Arkansas by 21.

Even then I don’t know, everyone has Arkansas as last in SEC this year projected 1-7. With a new coach and all.

Arkansas is very winnable game this year, but other than that UNT will have no other wins to support a top 25 and one of the worst strength of schedules in FBS (125)

I think they will have run the table to be ranked at the end of the year.

Tech beat Illinois and Virginia, lost to #6 A&M by 3 and then was ranked in top 25. It takes a lot and UNT won’t have any signature wins except a projected terrible Arkansas team

With plenty of scares, Southeastern was beating ULM and another Sunbelt team had to comeback to beat an FCSy

I don't doubt App St is too low. I also don't doubt Penn St was too high at week 1 and even now. Do you have a link that shows what % of voters vote for which teams?

FAU didn't drop because they played a good team. They dropped that much because they got pile drived in 2 quarters.

24, I agree they got punished for the shellacking, but let's all be real: They are a very good team that ran into a buzzsaw. With exception of one game, no one came close to them. They'll make adjustments. The early polls are just like Whose Line... The points don't matter.

Keep in mind they had a different OC and DC at the time.

VA, very true, but do you think they (the "voters") pay THAT mush attention to who does what in non-P5 schools?

Arkansas loses to Colorado State, and expected to go 0-8 or 1-7 in SEC,

So even with the Arkansas win I don’t expect UNT to be in top 25 until end of year if they run the table

Hey Dawgxas, why don’t you quit worrying about UNTs ranking. We’ve only played two friggin games. You must have a dozen posts related to where UNT “might” be ranked or not. No one on the UNT board is even talking about a Top 25 ranking. Only you. Worry about La Tech and how all of us can make this conference better. The Sun Belt has our azz right now.
