That's ok, we might only be beating bad teams, but we are beating them soundly. Anyone who has watched a game knows that we are greatly improved across the board.

Going into this season my hope was a possible bowl game.

I am amazed at what we have seen so far this year. Ridder has been an offensive game changer and should only get better.

And oh yeah, the receivers are not dropping the ball.

Now, we need to get the penalties down.

I posted about this on twitter yesterday but, Bearcats are at 63 in S/P+. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ncaa That seems about right to me. With the talent they have and the relative weakness of the schedule that could be good enough for a strong next third of the season. If the young guys develop can they be a top 40-50 type team by the last third? If so conference title in play.

Even as things are right now, S/P+ gives UC a 10% chance of losing 0 or 1 game. If the offense starts to get better those odds go up. Catch a couple breaks and a special season could be in play. I still think they will lose a few, but schedule and development have opened the season up for some real opportunities.

This seems entirely reasonable IMO.

We would have REALLY come a long way if we can ascend to a 40th place team by the EoY. I too think we're going to take a few lumps before the season is out - namely vs UCF, Temple, and USF. Nevertheless, those are to be expected considering the talent x experience differences (w/Temple being the exception - i think we're on par w/them from a talent perspective).

This year looks to be a big time jolt to the rehabilitation of the Bearcat football program. a few loses along the way won't stop that.
