Its quite fitting, don't you think, that Mr. Magoo missed one game.

We've all seen enough of Miami that we're all 'we'll believe it when we see it'.

RE: 2018 MAC Football Pick 'Em -- Week 2
WMU should fire its coach after back to back lackluster performances. If only to send a message that this isn't acceptable. Absolutely embarrassing the MAC for the 2nd straight week. How do you go from a NY6 bowl to this in just 2 seasons...

KSU up 47-14 with 2 minutes left in 3rd quarter.
Most points scored during Haynes era (2013-2017) was 45.

Way to go Eagles!
I am happy whenever my fellow MAC bretheren beat P5 teams.
Even if I didn't pick them to win in this thread.
Now, as for Kansas, you only had one job: to suck. And you blew it!

I would not read that much into the WMU vs. Michigan score.
1) 20 years ago playing the MAC was a tune up game so the A5 didn't step on the gas in these games. You can also see it with Alabama destroying Arkansas St this week, another quality G5 program.
2) The explosiveness of today's game can put a ton of points on the board in a hurry. Losing by 40 doesn't mean the other team is by default utter garbage anymore. I can happen to Top 15 teams if they don't come to play. Iowa did it to Ohio St last year.
For these reasons I don't think score comparisons are as meaningful as reputation and longer term performance.

RE: 2018 MAC Football Pick 'Em -- Week 2
Well, we had another week where a large amount of you tied for first place in the weekly standings. 14 people tied with a high score of 9 out of a maximum of 11 possible points. Everyone unanimously chose Michigan over Western Michigan, Akron over Morgan State, and Central Michigan over Kansas
There were a few brave souls that chose Eastern Michigan over Purdue. Had TheCrumbIsHere chosen Kent over Howard, I would have been awarding rep points.

I agree. I've seen teams that have looked terrible vs Top, even average, P5 schools and end up winning the Conference in the G5.
We're taking steps back, but all of our goals going into the season are still there.
Sure, we didn't look good on a national level, and that hurts, but that's going to happen when you play a team like Michigan who will challenge Ohio St for Big 10 Champs.
