I agree, but: as much as Liberty told us a lot about 2018, FIU will tell us more:

Can we rebound from an unprecedented Liberty loss?(Please please please yes)
Has the team given up on the season? (I doubt it, they are more resilient than keyboard warriors)
Can the coaches adjust after seeing what did and didn't work in both play-calling and execution?
Can we put the best 11 men on the field?

Not much in Wilder or Scotts history suggests they'll be able to do this.

Wilder has history of taking unwarranted chances (2 fake punts in a row. It's in his DNA, not gonna change) vs Scotts mind numbing predictability ( up the gut every 3rd down, ever).

I don't disagree, but as the mutual funds say: Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

I will say the last time I was critical of our coaches we went onto win 10 games and a bowl game that year. I'm hoping for a repeat. So keeping with superstition and tradition for me... Fire BW and staff!!!

I would love to say you are right. But that time we did not get our A$$ handed to us by a FCS team

Liberty is a good team. I know people want to argue about that fact but they matched up well against us. Any team who can score points quickly will be a challenge this season. Good news is that’s not FIU or Charlotte.

I think ODU can turn this around with better QB play alone. 5-7 is still possible. I think our bowl chances are near impossible with this loss though.

Good teams beat teams that match up well against them.

Its tough to get a read bc the team was competing well for 2.5 quarters then played like the worst team in NCAA for 1.5. I want to believe Williams was just off and will revound well because his command of the offense isuch better than last year.

I really dont want to blame one player or person but we left at least 18 points on the board in just the first half with missed throws.

The final score overshadowed some of the good things we did, especially defensively. The team is seasoned and I think will come out trying to prove a point next week. If yhey get blown out, it may be over tho

I don't know how good Liberty is, but they finished 4th in the Big South last year.

We made them look better than they are but I came away extremely impress d with their offense. And the QB, in general. That kid looked like an NFL guys with his poise, size, and arm strength. Im guessing they will be in a lot of shootouts and do pretty well.

There defense wasnt great (secondary), but that front 7 surprised me. Wells and their middle linebacker are very good.

Ya they'll be in a lot of shoot outs for sure. Our receivers were open often just never got the ball.

I will add the OL is horrible. At the FBS you cannot be 1 dimensional. We have only 1 receiver that can get separation and he is small. the question is are we satisfied with 3 to 5 wins.

We just need a good regional-sounding first name for our QB. "Buckshot" was appropriate for Liberty, maybe we can recruit a kid named "Crabcake", "Rockfish", or "Traffic Jam".
