Positive: Our program has progressed to the point where our fans are expecting to beat BigTen teams, and are beside themselves when we on occasion do not.

Recruiting is great but he doesn't use the talent that he gets.
Remember when Toledo always had the best recruiting classes but NIU won the West.

I think recruiting has been a mixed bag. Been some good gets but looking at the current lineup the top QB, WR, RB, S, and K are all transfers. NIU struggling to land good QBs doesn’t really make sense either when you consider almost every other MAC team has had success recruiting the position. Ratings are what they are but even the bad MAC teams are landing three star recruits at QB.

This is true. But, I don't think Carey is interested in recruiting the type of QBs that other teams are. He recruits what he sees as a dual threat QB (to fit into our "system"), but he has been generally unsuccessful in identifying a QB that can handle both parts of the dual threat well. When he indeed had a decent dual threat QB, he rode the pine, was sent away, or turned into a WR (or a combination of these).

I hope the list for Carey's replacement is indeed short and well thought out. No matter who they hire has to be an improvement. Just as long as they don't extend his contract (which I feel will happen).

If careys contract is given another extension I am officially done

MD you are a Huskie for life....quit saying you are done and tell me the weather for Sat please.

Lasted from 2010 thru 2013. CMU was #1 in 2009 and WMU#1 in 2014.

And Toledo was #2 in 2009 AND 2014. Since 2006 Toledo has been 1 or 2 every year but twice. The fell all the way to #3 and to #4 once each. Toledo has consistently been a top Mac team. But it really illustrates how championships are won with Qbs. No coincidence Toledo didn't win a crown in that period until Woodside kicked ass.

I think the O line did a good job run blocking, and the to average for the RBs showed that. Although Iowa had inexperienced LBs which helped I'm sure.

Here’s a positive. Carey isn’t Tim Lester. When Lester took over WMU was coming off of a better season than NIU has ever had and some of the best recruiting classes ever. Lester has ruined all of that it seems.
